Season 11 of Blue Bloods started off with two important characters getting into danger. It then ended with them taking a big step together. This is what fans had to say about Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) going to family dinner together.

Only Reagans go to family dinner on ‘Blue Bloods’

The Reagans have family dinner every week. That’s because Frank’s (Tom Selleck) mom started the tradition by cooking the weekly meal.

“My grandmother grew up poor in a small town in Ireland,” Jamie (Will Estes) told Eddie (Vanessa Ray) in an episode. “She was the oldest of 12 kids and there was never enough to eat. She moved to New York to make money. She met my grandpa and when they got married she promised herself that they would always have more than enough to eat. Family dinner was just her way of proudly proving that every week.”

The Reagans have many close friends. But none of them have been invited to family dinner until the 200th episode. Frank invited his first partner, Lenny (Treat Williams) to dinner.

“I was very honored that I was invited to the family dinner,” Williams told TV Insider. “No outsider had ever had dinner with the family.”

Season 11 of the show had an explosive start. Danny and Baez were trying to find a missing woman. Baez was pushed down a flight of stairs during the search and was hurt.

They then had an emotional conversation. Baez was frustrated with Danny and vented. “You just have this perfect family and you don’t even realize it half the time,” she said. Baez also pointed out that he has “Reagan luck” that never runs out, but then he said it ran out on his dead wife, Linda (Amy Carlson).

Jamie managed to find Danny and Baez, but not the serial killer. The episode ended with Baez being invited to family dinner for the first time. She said she feels a little better every day after being hurt.

“This all looks so nice. I can’t remember the last time I was at a Sunday dinner like this,” she told them.
