Work is a little unstable for some of the characters on Blue Bloods. That’s because a character left their job, and Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) needs a new partner. Find out who plays her new partner, Luis Badillo.

Eddie rode with Luis Badillo on ‘Blue Bloods’

The episode “Be Smart or Be Dead” showed Eddie riding with Luis Badillo. He immediately called her out for not using her real last name, “Reagan” on the job. Luis accused her of having a problem with people knowing she’s married to Jamie (Will Estes). Eddie said she heard “good stuff” about Luis but was caught off guard with this.

They later responded to an attempted robbery at a store. Someone handcuffed the robber and left. The good samaritan didn’t want credit, but Eddie was determined to find out who caught the robber. Luis was against going against this person’s wish to stay anonymous.

In the end, Henry (Len Cariou) was the one who caught the man. The episode ended with the family being impressed. It’s unclear if Luis will stick around as Eddie’s partner. Eddie tells him he can switch partners “no harm, no foul.” He said she should ask since she sleeps with the man who makes their roster. But Eddie realized he planned to ask to be switched because he didn’t want to ride with someone in the Reagan family.

The new character is played by Ian Quinlan. This is certainly not the actor’s first time playing a cop.

He played Carl Pinkney in Gotham, who was in the Gotham Police Academy. He was also in Sneaky Pete, Orange Is the New Black, City Hall, and more.

His latest role was Hutch in Jupiter’s Legacy. That is a slight change in genre, given the show is about superheroes.

Eddie had different partners after Jamie was promoted. But Rachel Witten (Lauren Patten) eventually stuck around for about three seasons.

But Rachel decided to leave the job. She previously shot and killed a criminal last season. She struggled with that mentally and started to pull away from Eddie.

In “True Blue,” she decided to go on leave. Eddie asked her to talk to Frank (Tom Selleck) before leaving. She did, and Frank revealed she has a year to decide if she wants to return. He then asked for her to come back in a year to talk no matter her decision.

This means fans will probably see Rachel again. But for now, Eddie will have to work with someone else.

Eddie and Luis did start off on the wrong foot. In the next episode, we should find out if they’ll go their separate ways.
