‘Blue Bloods’ Series Finale Air Date Set at CBS
It’s time to say goodbye to the Reagan family. CBS has set an air date for the Blue Bloods series finale.
‘Blue Bloods’ Season 14 finale airs Dec. 13
The Blue Bloods Season 14 finale will air on Friday, Dec. 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The episode will be the swan song for the Tom Selleck show, which premiered in 2010.
The network hasn’t revealed an episode title or synopsis for the cop drama’s last-ever episode, but series star Bridget Moynahan has promised that it will be “bittersweet” for fans.
“I think that fans will feel somewhat satisfied… but then you’re going to want more,” she told TVLine. “There are these nuggets where people are going to be like, ‘Yes!!!’ And then the show’s over. It’s going to be bittersweet in some ways.”
A ‘Blue Bloods’ farewell special will air on Nov. 29
Prior to the finale, CBS will give Blue Bloods a proper sendoff. On Friday, Nov. 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the network will air Blue Bloods: Celebrating a Family Legacy.
The 1-hour Entertainment Tonight special hosted by Nischelle Turner will look back at nearly 300 episodes of Blue Bloods. It will include exclusive interviews with the show’s stars, who will share favorite memories and behind-the-scenes moments from the past 14 years, as well as archival interviews from the ET vault. The special will also feature a look inside the beloved family dinner scenes, including new details about how filming the first dinner scene for the pilot shaped the direction of the show. Plus, fans will learn what it was like to film scenes on the streets of NYC and get a sneak peek at the emotional series finale.
Tom Selleck is ‘frustrated’ CBS canceled ‘Blue Bloods’
In the year since CBS announced it would not renew Blue Bloods for season 15, several cast members have spoken out about their disappointment over the decision. That includes Selleck, who has been vocal in expressing his opinion that the network made the wrong call.
“I’m kind of frustrated,” he recently told TV Insider. “During those last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful. In a Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024 (in total viewers, we were number 9 out of 100), if you discount the three football shows, we’re #6.
“I’m not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, ‘Get off my lawn!’” he added. “I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,’ it would be almost impossible to believe. My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go. So how do I feel? It’s going to take a long time to sort all of this out.”
