‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ Season 3, Episode 7: Maribeth Monroe Ships Christina and Tony Okungbowa’s Kofo Romantically

Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3, Episode 7, “Fumble in the Dark,” came with some major developments. Tori Danner’s Morenike came out to Kemi while Christina stood up for herself and left the family business. However, the episode did not come without some romantic tension between Maribeth Monroe’s Christina and Tony Okungbowa’s Kofo. The actor even tweeted about how she ships their characters on the show.

The flirty past between Maribeth Monroe and Tony Okungbowa’s characters

Season 3 does not mark the first time Monroe and Okungbowa flirted in Bob Hearts Abishola.

Tony plays Kofo, a MaxDot employee and cousin to Goodwin (Bayo Akinfemi) on Chuck Lorre‘s sitcom. His character starred in a recurring role before both he and Bayo moved to series regulars.

While Kofo and Goodwin usually appear together, Kofo has had a few scenes with Christina in the show. Monroe’s character has not had the best luck with relationships. She was married, but that ended when she stabbed her husband in the butt with a steak knife.

In Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3, Episode 7, Christina pitched a marketing idea that Kofo loved. However, Dottie (Christina Ebersole) and Bob (Billy Gardell) waved the idea off.

Feeling underappreciated, Kofo encouraged her to stand up to her family members. It led to a sweet moment with a few lingering glances between the two.

Maribeth Monroe tweeted her support for Christina and Tony Okungbowa’s Kofo

The Friday before Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3, Episode 7, Monroe posted on Twitter about how she got to flirt with him again.

“Love these two crazy kids together!” She wrote. “Kofo and Christina 4eva!!!!”

While Bob and Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku) remain the main couple, other actors have seen some romantic interests introduced.

Douglas (Matt Jones) met bus driver Oliva (Edy Ganem), and Kemi has a complex romance with Chukwuemeka (Tony Tambi).

However, Monroe and Okungbowa’s on-screen relationship might take longer to get off the ground than others based on her final choice in the episode.

Kofo was heartbroken when Christina left MaxDot

Christina said that the best decision for her was to leave the business. She told Billy Gardell’s Bob that she quit and set off for “new and exciting opportunities.”

Of course, Bob accepted it with more grace than Dottie.

Monroe’s Christina told Okungbowa’s Kofo and Goodwin about her departure, but Kofo took it especially hard. However, she left a small gift for Kofo.

With Christina’s position open, Bob had to promote Kofo or Goodwin. Thanks to a recommendation from her, Kofo got the promotion to her old job.

Bob Hearts Abishola has dropped several hints of a possible romance between Maribeth Monroe and Tony Okungbowa’s characters. However, with Christina leaving MaxDot, their dynamic could change very soon. At least it could not possibly turn as complicated as Kemi’s love life.
