Bob Saget and His Wife Were Kissing and Joking in This Instagram Post Just Days Before His Death
Stand-up comedian, TV host, and Full House star Bob Saget was found dead inside his Ritz-Carlton hotel room in Orlando, Florida, on Jan. 9. He was 65.
The former America’s Funniest Home Videos host leaves behind three daughters Aubrey, Jennifer, and Lara, and his wife Kelly Rizzo. Following the sad news, several fans took to Instagram to comment on Rizzo’s posts and express their condolences. That’s when many saw a video she posted last week with Saget that is heartbreaking to watch now.
Rizzo revealed how she and Saget got together
The Full House actor and Rizzo started dating in 2015 and tied the knot three years later.
Rizzo previously revealed how Saget asked her out during a Q&A with some fans on TikTok. She said he reached out to her after seeing her posts on social media.
She explained: “I think Bob was looking for a good Midwestern gal, a Chicago gal, like myself. So he saw my Instagram and he’s like, ‘Oh, it’s not all selfies and bikinis like she actually does stuff. She has this food show and travel show. She seems interesting.’”
Rizzo added that she agreed to go on a date with him after he asked: “Hey, want to come to a show of mine and then go out for some burgers and lobsters?”
Saget and Rizzo were having fun in their last Instagram post together
Just one week before his death, Saget and Rizzo did an Instagram video in which the two recapped “another year of fun.”
“Are you ready? Here we go,” Saget said as clips flashed of different activities they did together during each month in 2021.
That wasn’t the first video Rizzo and Saget ever posted on Instagram together but it would be their last and it ended with them holding hands.
Saget’s family is ‘devastated’ after his death
After the actor‘s death was confirmed, his family shared a statement with Page Six that read: “We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today. He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter. Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said they are still investigating Saget’s death but do not suspect drugs or foul play at this time.
“Deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room,” the department wrote on Twitter. “The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”
