Bob Saget’s family filed a lawsuit to keep the ‘Full House’ star’s death records from being released
On Jan. 9, Bob Saget was found dead in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida. The comedian was on tour and had performed a two-hour stand-up comedy set the prior evening.
A month after Saget’s death, his family, including his wife and three daughters, filed a lawsuit against Orange County Sheriff John Mina and the District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office to prevent them from releasing documents related to the comedian’s death investigation.
On Feb. 16, ABC News reported that the comedian’s family was granted a temporary injunction. The order blocked the sheriff and the medical examiner’s office from releasing Saget’s death records to the public or press.
The injunction was a temporary measure until the court reached a more permanent decision on Saget’s family’s case.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying that while it is “sensitive” to the family’s need for privacy, that sensitivity “must be balanced with our commitment to transparency, compliance with the law, and the public’s right to know.”

All of the prayers and well wishes continuously extended to the family are beyond appreciated.”
The ‘Full House’ star’s wife recently shared a tribute to her late husband
While Bob Saget’s family is protective of their privacy, they have also been open with fans while mourning the loss of the comedian.
On Mar. 9, Bob Saget’s wife, travel and food blogger Kelly Rizzo, shared an Instagram tribute to her late husband.
“2 whole months. I’ve experienced that now time means nothing and everything at the same time,” Rizzo captioned a sweet photo of Saget with his arm around her. “You count the weeks, and the months, they’re strange and surreal milestones. How can it be 2 months without you??”
She went on to reference navigating her “very weird new universe” after Saget’s death. “But also it feels like yesterday you were here- and it still also feels like you never left? I like to say it’s all a very weird new universe. Learning how to navigate it is quite the journey 💫”
