‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Fans Are Loving Classic Wedding Episodes
CBS’ The Bold and The Beautiful is one of the most beloved daytime TV shows of all-time. Beginning in 1987, the program is one of the longest-running shows on television, after being broadcast on CBS for 32 seasons. That means 32 seasons of romance, betrayal, and of course 32 seasons of weddings!
The popular soap opera is still on the air, but due to the COVID-19 virus, the production of new episodes has halted. Luckily for fans, the show has years and years of episodes to rerun, and the show-runners have decided to feature a weekly theme with iconic moments and episodes rebroadcast from the programs storied history.
How did COVID-19 affect ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’ shooting?
The soap opera is one of the many productions that have been shut down in recent months.
A majority of film and television programs have been forced to stop production due to concerns stemming from the COVID-19 virus. Everyone knows that Hollywood and California is the entertainment capital of the world, but when the Sunshine State shut down, so did most production sets.
The studio set’s shutdown of The Bold and The Beautiful’s shooting location began on March, 17, 2020.
According to Deadline, the program had several weeks’ worth of episodes ready to show before production halted, but following those episodes release, those in charge of the program had to change their typical episode release plan. Another popular CBS soap opera, The Young and The Restless, shoots in the same location, and is also rerunning classic episodes.
For The Bold and The Beautiful, the special theme weeks included episodes set in Monte Carlo, various behind the scenes and making-of specials, and some of the show’s classic wedding spectaculars.
Rerun weeks with a special theme
The Bold and The Beautiful, focuses on the rich and beautiful Forrester family, who are on the tippy-top of the glamorous Los Angeles fashion scene.
The various family members attempt to find love and true partnership, which results in a mixture of success and failure. The show is known for its gorgeous and dramatic wedding episodes, many of which are the favorites of fans. This popularity led to the decision to rerun the most iconic weddings in the show’s history.
This week-long event was nicknamed #EpicWeddingWeek on social media. Both long-time and new fans are enjoying these throwbacks, especially the wedding episodes. In these difficult times, it is pleasant for The Bold and The Beautiful fans to relive happy memories of their favorite characters and their happiest days.
Fans are feeling the love for the classic wedding episodes
There have been a number of weddings in the long and storied history of The Bold and The Beautiful, many of which are cherished by long-time fans of the show. It can be difficult for new fans of the show to follow the long and intertwined love stories.
Perhaps the most iconic series of weddings include the long-lasting love triangle of Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo), and Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss/Thorsten Kaye). Most fans have been forced to pick between Team Brooke & Ridge or Team Taylor & Ridge, and both sets of couples have tied and untied the knot several times.
Possibly the most iconic wedding in the show is the fairytale wedding between Logan and Ridge’s father, but not biological father, Eric Forrester (John McCook). The eldest Forrester swept Logan off her feet in a hot-air balloon and were married.
The couple did not last, but it is still seen as one of the most romantic moments in the show. Eric eventually reunited with his long-time love Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery), which probably helped to relieve some tension around the family dinner table.
Logan and Ridge Forrester’s star-crossed love seems to have ended with the two together, but you never know what will happen next on The Bold and The Beautiful.
