The Mandalorian Season 2 brought Star Warsbeloved bounty hunter, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), back into the franchise — but The Book of Boba Fett is exploring how he got from Return of the Jedi to where he is now. It’s also following the character as he attempts to rule over Tatooine. Doing so might prove complicated after the Disney+ show’s most recent episode. So, when’s the release date for The Book of Boba Fett Episode 3 and what can fans expect?

[Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2.]

The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2 introduced a new problem for its title character and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), but it didn’t make much headway on the present-day storyline before diving back into the past. The latest installment did see Jabba the Hutt’s cousins arriving to reclaim their hold over Tatooine though. Presumably, Boba will need to get them out of the way in order to maintain his own claim to the throne.

However, Chapter 2 doesn’t reveal how he’ll do that. Instead, it takes fans to another flashback courtesy of the Bacta Tank. This sees Boba Fett training with and growing closer to the Tusken Raiders. As the episode continues, he helps the group regain control over their land. They eventually repay him with a Gaderffii stick, a clear sign of his belonging.

Episode 2 remains focused on Boba’s time with the Tusken Raiders for most of its run, so fans will need to wait until The Book of Boba Fett Episode 3 to see how things play out with the twins. When does it come out on Disney+?

‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Episode 3 release date and time

The Book of Boba Fett no doubt piqued some interest with the second episode’s flashbacks, but fans are eager to see how the bounty hunter and Fennec Shand will handle the Hutt twins. The Book of Boba Fett Episode 3 should elaborate on their arrival and what it means for the main duo — so, when is its release date?

The Star Wars series will drop new episodes every Wednesday on Disney+. Per CNET, this is the schedule viewers can expect as the show continues:

  • Episode 1: Dec. 29, 2021
  • Episode 2: Jan. 5, 2022

  • Episode 4: Jan. 19, 2022

So, what else can viewers expect from The Book of Boba Fett when its episode 3 release date arrives? Sadly, Disney+ doesn’t give much away in the form of synopses or episode previews. But it’s probably safe to say fans can expect more of the present-day storyline after this week’s trip to the past.

With only seven episodes in total, The Book of Boba Fett will need to establish its main antagonists and obstacles within the next few chapters. It’s also likely to tie Boba’s past excursions into the present-day ones. However, that could take more time to happen.

With Fennec telling Boba Fett that they’ll need permission to get rid of the Hutt twins, viewers are likely to get a closer look at who’s really calling the shots in Tatooine. Will the pair convince them to leave Boba on the throne? Fans will need to keep watching to find out. In the meantime, they can return to the previous installments for Easter Eggs and clues.
