The Book of Boba Fett caught Star Wars fans up to the events of The Mandalorian in its most recent episode, exploring how Temuera Morrison’s title character came to work with Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand. It also brought Boba Fett one step closer to securing his throne — though he’ll have to take down the Pyke Syndicate to make it official. So, what’s the release date for The Book of Boba Fett Episode 5?

The dynamic between Boba Fett and Fennec Shand is a central focus of The Book of Boba Fett, and the show’s latest installment explores its origin. “Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm” shows how Fennec survived her encounter with Toro Calican (Jake Cannavale) in The Mandalorian. It also sees her embarking with Boba on their first mission together.

Courtesy of another Bacta Tank flashback, the Disney+ series fills in a few blanks from The Mandalorian. We come to understand why Fennec chose to travel with Boba, as well as why they’re going after Tatooine. Of course, episode 4 doesn’t just recap previous events. It also sets up a confrontation between the duo and the Pyke Syndicate.

The tail end of Chapter 4 sees Boba Fett meeting with the crime leaders of Mos Espa, attempting to win them over ahead of his fight with the Pykes. With the help of a newly recruited Black Krrsantan and his rancor, he convinces the group to stand by while he goes to war. It’s a step in the right direction considering how many people have outwardly tried to stand in his way.

The Book of Boba Fett Episode 5 seems like it will finally see Boba Fett making a move against his opponents. When can fans expect it on Disney+?

‘The Book of Boba Fett Episode 5 release date and time

With things officially heating up between Boba Fett and the Pyke Syndicate — and the Bacta Tank flashbacks likely at an end — The Book of Boba Fett is about to get even more thrilling in episode 5. But when can fans expect the next chapter?

New installments of the Star Wars series drop on Disney+ every Wednesday at 12 a.m. PST. According to CNET, these are the release dates for all seven episodes of The Book of Boba Fett:

  • Episode 1: Dec. 29, 2021
  • Episode 2: Jan. 5, 2022
  • Episode 3: Jan. 12, 2022
  • Episode 4: Jan. 19, 2022
  • Episode 5: Jan. 26, 2022
  • Episode 6: Feb. 2, 2022
  • Episode 7: Feb. 9, 2022

With just three chapters left, it’s about time the real war for Tatooine’s criminal underbelly began. The Disney+ series has maintained a slow to medium pace thus far, but it has a lot of ground to cover in its final chapters (assuming it doesn’t leave some storylines hanging for a second season).

With Boba Fett and Fennec poised to move against the Pyke Syndicate, viewers can probably expect a bit more action from The Book of Boba Fett Episode 5. The Disney+ series has made its way through most of the footage from its trailer, so we’re venturing into uncharted territory. That could suggest some developments too exciting to spoil ahead of time.

Of course, Boba Fett is unlikely to take down the Pykes in a single episode — and it’s unclear if he can trust everyone around him. He’s likely to face further obstacles now that the fight is truly beginning.

Without a preview or synopsis to work with, Star Wars fans will have to wait until next Wednesday to see how Boba Fett fares. Thankfully, there are plenty of reasons to rewatch the previous installments in the meantime.
