The Book of Boba Fett is the latest Star Wars series to debut on Disney+, and the flashbacks in its most recent episode harkened back to The Mandalorian. That, along with a certain music choice, has fans wondering whether the show could bring in Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) or Baby Yoda. Will the Mandalorian or Grogu appear in The Book of Boba Fett?

‘The Book of Boba Fett’ nods to ‘The Mandalorian’

The Mandalorian Season 2 set the stage for the events unfolding in The Book of Boba Fett, so it’s probably no surprise that the latter series alludes to its predecessor on occasion.

Although the overlap hasn’t been huge, Boba Fett’s (Temuera Morrison) time in the Bacta tank filled in a few blanks from The Mandalorian. Most notably, it revealed how he saved Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) from her near-fatal injury in the previous Star Wars story.

As many fans have pointed out on Twitter, the latest chapter of The Book of Boba Fett also features The Mandalorian theme song. It’s an interesting scoring choice that has many wondering whether or not they’ll see Din Djarin or Grogu before the Disney+ series is through.

Will Grogu or Din Djarin appear in ‘The Book of Boba Fett’?

The choice to include The Mandalorian theme music in The Book of Boba Fett certainly suggests Din could make a surprise appearance in the Disney+ show. After all, Boba is in need of allies in his fight against the Pyke Syndicate. He and Fennec did help the other Mandalorian during his time of need. And the music conveniently plays as Boba is wondering where he can find more muscle.

Additionally, Lucasfilm has been radio silent about The Mandalorian Season 3. It’s an unusual choice considering all the other Star Wars content the studio has planned. Could the execs be waiting until Mando’s cameo to make any further announcements?

Unfortunately, Grogu is less likely to show up in The Book of Boba Fett. The Mandalorian Season 2 saw everyone’s favorite child leaving to train with Luke Skywalker. As amazing as it would be to see that duo again, it’s hard to imagine them fitting into Boba Fett’s story in any significant way.

Din, on the other hand, is a perfect match for a tale about Tatooine’s criminal underbelly. The bounty hunter no doubt has connections to some of the characters Boba is negotiating with. Perhaps he’ll even have information to help take down the Pykes.

The better question is, will The Book of Boba Fett set up The Mandalorian Season 3 somehow?

With Din and Grogu separated, the plot of The Mandalorian Season 3 remains a question mark — one holding a Darksaber, no less. Most fans assume the next outing will see Din reluctantly joining the fight to save Mandalore. And that still may be the case.

But if Pascal’s character shows up in the Temuera Morrison-led series, the two shows may be more connected than anyone realized. Could part of The Mandalorian‘s third season deal with what’s happening on Tatooine? Or will the events unfolding there impact the next chapter of Din’s journey?

Only time will tell how things play out in the Star Wars universe. But if we’ve learned anything by now, it’s that everything’s connected. Hopefully, that means Boba’s current adventure will lead into The Mandalorian Season 3.
