‘Bosch: Legacy’: Prime Video Sets Premiere Date for Final Season
Harry Bosch is about to embark on his final case. Prime Video has announced a premiere for the third – and sadly, final – season of Bosch: Legacy.
‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 3 premieres March 27
Bosch: Legacy Season 3 premieres Thursday, March 27 on Prime Video. The streamer teased the closing chapter of the fan-favorite crime drama with a one-minute YouTube video featuring highlights from previous seasons of Bosch and Bosch: Legacy.
The first four episodes of season 3 will drop on the 27th. Two episodes will drop on the following Thursdays until the series finale on April 17, TVLine reported.
Bosch and Bosch: Legacy star Titus Welliver as Harry Bosch, an LAPD homicide cop who later turns private detective. Other cast members include Madison Lintz as Harry’s daughter Maddie Bosch and Mimi Rogers as attorney Honey “Money” Chandler.
What to expect from the final season of ‘Bosch: Legacy’
The final season of Bosch: Legacy is based on two Michael Connelly novels: Desert Star and The Black Ice.
The season 3 episodes will deal with the fallout from the murder of imprisoned rapist (and Maddie’s kidnapper) Kurt Dockweiler (David Denman). (In the season 2 finale, Harry’s old nemesis Preston Borders claimed Harry ordered a hit on Dockweiler on Harry’s orders.) The investigation into that crime brings dangerous secrets to light and threatens to run the lives of Maddie, Harry, and Honey. Meanwhile, Honey is in a tight race for DA, and Maddie gets involved in a series of violent follow-home robberies.
Titus Welliver is ‘eternally grateful’ for Harry Bosch role
Bosch premiered in 2014, which means that Welliver has spent more than a decade playing the principled detective. In a heartfelt social media post shared after the show’s final season was announced, he called his time on Bosch the “most rewarding and beautiful experience” of his career.
“Ten years ago, I had the incredible good fortune to be cast as Harry Bosch on the series Bosch,” Welliver wrote in the September 2024 Instagram message. “For 10 years, I have had the tremendous privilege to work alongside the most amazing writers, producers, and cast of actors, all driven by the most hardworking and incredible crew. We have become a family, and I’m eternally grateful for every person involved in the tremendous effort it took to make the most substantive show out there.”
Even though Bosch: Legacy is ending, there’s a chance Harry Bosch isn’t gone for good. Amazon has ordered a Bosch spinoff about LAPD cold case Detective Renée Ballard, which might feature an appearance from Welliver.
“Fear not, we are currently in production on the Renée Ballard show,” Connelly teased on his website. “And if you know anything about my books, then you know you have not seen the last of Harry Bosch!”
