BuzzFeed News released a report covering the workplace of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. A current employee and ten employees talked about their experience on the show claiming they faced racism and a toxic work environment.

Some claimed they were fired for taking medical leave and bereavement days. One employee claimed she left after hearing comments about her race.

Another report was released by BuzzFeed News. A former employee has accused executive producer Kevin Leman of sexual harassment. Another claimed she saw Lenman groping a production assistant. The report also claimed five former employees accused executive producer Ed Glavin touching them in a way that made them feel uncomfortable.

The former employees seem to have different opinions on whether DeGeneres knew about this. The talk show host did release an apology.

DeGeneres released an apology

An investigation has been launched into the show’s work environment. DeGeneres addressed her employees after the report.

“My name is on the show and everything we do and I take responsibility for that. Alongside Warner Bros., we immediately began an internal investigation and we are taking steps, together, to correct the issues,” read part of her statement according to Variety.

“As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done,” it continued. “Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”

Glavin is reportedly leaving his executive producer role imminently. People are still talking about the rumors around DeGeneres.
