What is Andy Cohen’s new show about?

Cohen not only hosts a daily late-night talk show, but he also serves as producer of the various franchises of The Real Housewives. The television host is now adding on to his to-do list as executive producer and host of For Real: The Story of Reality TV.

“I’m thrilled to look back at the shows that formed my love for reality TV, and interview the icons of the genre,” Cohen said in a statement published by The Hollywood Reporter. “This series is like great candy!”

The seven-part docuseries will see Cohen highlight iconic moments in reality show history. Each of the episodes will explore a theme and have commentary from the stars, producers, and journalists recalling the unscripted events.

“A reality connoisseur in his own right, Andy takes viewers on a deep and captivating journey into a genre that’s forever captivated audiences and impacted pop culture,” EVP of Development, Rachel Smid said. “At a time where the world is constantly changing, For Real: The Story of Reality TV offers the perfect escape we all need; an opportunity to sit back, relax and submerge into a world that’s captured so many.”

Cohen has an overall deal with NBCUniversal, the parent company of the Bravo and E! networks. For Real: The Story of Reality TV is set to air in early 2021.

Andy Cohen loves to spill the tea

Cohen loves to get messy and fans love to see at each of The Real Housewives reunions or when he asks shady questions on WWHL. There’s no other TV personality that knows how to spill the tea like Cohen does. The pop culture enthusiast also has a SiriusXM channel and hosts a show where he goes more in depth about everything.

Recently, Kelly Dodd of The Real Housewives of Orange County has landed in hot water for her outspokenness. There’s a serious backlash with her and Cohen spilled the tea on what he thinks about the controversy.

“People have always celebrated Kelly for her outspokenness,” Cohen said on Everything Iconic podcast. “People are usually celebrated for [being outspoken and polarizing]. But there’s been a reckoning of sorts, and the line is being drawn by some fans as to what they’ll accept and what they won’t and that’s entirely their right.”

After rumors swirled that Caitlyn Jenner was being considered for the new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Cohen quickly shut down those rumors. He took to Radio Andy to dispel the allegations Jenner was going to hold a diamond for RHOBH Season 11.

“This is one of those where the call is coming from inside the house people, as they say,” Cohen said on his SiriusXM show. “I know that they have expressed their interest publicly. On social media they’ve tagged me in posts saying, ‘We think this is a great idea,’ but it is not.”

Cohen can be seen nightly on Watch What Happens Live on Bravo.
