Bravo’s ‘Family Karma’: Vishal Parvani Says There Are ‘Multiple Reasons’ Why He and Richa Sadana Aren’t Married
Even though Family Karma ended with a lavish engagement party Vishal Parvani and Richa Sadana are still not married. The series filmed in the fall and early winter so even if the couple tried to make plans, the pandemic would make setting a specific date impossible.
But the pandemic isn’t what’s stopped the couple from walking down the aisle. At first, getting Sadana’s mother’s approval was a huge roadblock. “[Getting her approval is] extremely serious,” Parvani told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “If Richa’s mom won’t accept me, there will be no wedding.”
But viewers saw the families come together and Parvani and his future mother-in-law are finally on good terms. So what’s the hold-up?
Parvani cites ‘multiple reasons’ wedding planning is delayed
Parvani said he and Sadana have a number of issues to work out before they tie the knot. “I wish I could pinpoint one reason, but there are multiple reasons. We have issues in our relationship,” Parvani told Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
“One of the larger ones is right after I proposed is right when she took over her mom’s business, which means we went from seeing each other every day for five years to where she’s now long distance,” he continued. “And for the past two years, we’ve been long distance. So that’s a new hurdle and challenge that was pushed onto our relationship amongst the many other issues that we have that we need to address.”
“I guess the next step is we should probably buy a house together and live together before getting married,” he said. “She will come down maybe one week out of the month, and I’ll try taking a weekend trip to Memphis once a month. And keep the long-distance relationship.” Cameras captured Sadana’s visits to Miami. She slept in one bedroom and Parvani in another.
The ‘Family Karma’ couple can’t decide on a permanent residence
Parvani expressed a desire to keep a residence in both Memphis and Miami when he spoke with Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “We should probably have that talk,” Parvani joked looking at Sadana. “No, we’ve spoken about it. She’s asked me if I’d move to Memphis. But I told her my job is in Miami. And her job is in Memphis. My ideal scenario is we keep it as is. I make a lot more trips to Memphis.”
Sadana said she spends about 80% of her time in Memphis. Parvani added, “We’ve been together for eight years. And engaged for three. And we’re not married. So it’s going to be a true test of being together.”
Plus, don’t forget about the grandchildren the Family Karma parents want so badly too. But Parvani said that’s a topic of discussion for later. “I don’t know if it’s something that she wants,” he admitted. “She gets annoyed by screaming little kids, and I love it. It’s like music to my ears. I’m not going to say that she’s going to say [a] permanent no, but I told her, ‘Let’s revisit the issue in five years.’ And she’s like, ‘OK.'”
