Britney Spears Admitted She Wanted ‘3 More’ Kids on ‘Carpool Karaoke’ Years Ago
In June 2021, new information has been revealed regarding the rules surrounding Britney Spears’ conservatorship. According to Spears, the rules could affect her ability to have more kids. Now, we’re looking back — and the pop icon once said she wanted to have more children while on Carpool Karaoke. Here’s what we know about Britney Spears’ kids today and what she said in the past.
Britney Spears’ conservatorship allegedly won’t allow her to remove her IUD
While everyone knows Spears for her incredible ’90s and ’00s pop hits, she’s now in the news thanks to her involuntary conservatorship. For the past 12 years, her father, Jamie Spears, has been her conservator. He’s had a say in her financial, medical, and legal decisions, deeply impacting her life.
As for what the conservatorship controls, Spears allegedly can’t purchase alcohol, can’t own her own iPhone, and she has to get her father’s permission in order to marry. Even more recently, Spears spoke out about other limiting factors of the legal agreement. Us Weekly reports she had a court hearing on June 23, 2021, where she explained she couldn’t go to the doctor’s office without prior permission. She also claimed she’s not allowed to remove her intrauterine device that prevents pregnancy.
“I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby,” she claimed. “And my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out.”
As of 2021, Britney Spears kids, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, only see her 30% of the time as well. They see Kevin Federline 70% of the time.
She once admitted on ‘Carpool Karaoke’ she wanted ‘3 more’ children
Prior to speaking in her court hearing, Spears talked about her desire for more kids. In 2016, she joined comedian James Corden for his Carpool Karaoke segment of The Late Late Show. And the topic of children came up.
“I didn’t know you liked kids,” Spears told Corden as he’s driving. Corden then explained he has two young children — a 5-year-old and an almost-2-year-old.
“She’s nearly 2,” Corden added. “She’ll be 2 soon.”
“I’m so jealous,” Spears expressed. At the time, Britney Spears’ kids were 9 and 10 years old, and she told Corden their ages after he asked. “They’re not babies anymore,” she noted. “I want more.”
“You want to have more kids?” Corden asked. “How many more?”
“Like three more,” Spears answered.
“Three more?” Corden asked, surprised. “You’re going to go straight up five?”
“I need to find the right guy first,” Spears added. Then, Corden joked she has to “tell him he’s about to become a father of three.”
“All I want is another baby,” she concluded.
What are Britney Spears’ kids’ ages in 2021?
Britney Spears’ kids are growing up fast. She had Sean Preston back in 2005 and Jayden James in 2006. Sean will turn 16 in September 2021, and Jayden will turn 15 in September 2021. As for Spears’ relationship with Kevin, they were married for three years and then went their separate ways in 2007.
So, how much do Britney Spears’ kids know about her conservatorship? They certainly know something’s amiss. Jayden posted a video to Instagram in March 2020 where he mentioned he’s “trying” to break his mother free, and he also touched on how she hasn’t made music in quite some time. “I remember one time I asked her, I said, ‘Mom, what happened to your music?” he explained. “And she was like, ‘I don’t know, honey. I think I might just quit it.’”
We’ll have to wait for more details on Spears’ conservatorship to see what comes of her current rules.
