Britney Spears Begs Sister Jamie Lynn Spears to Stop the ‘Crazy Lies for the Hollywood Books’ in Regards to the Knife Story
The feud between Britney Spears and her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears grew to new heights after the Nightline interview on Jan. 12. The 40-year-old pop icon explained to her Twitter followers that she had a 104-degree fever while watching her sister’s ABC Good Morning America and Nightline interview on Jan. 12, 2022. It looks like Britney is finally feeling better and had a chance to take it all in because she has strong feelings about that story Jamie Lynn told about a knife.
Jamie Lynn Spears’ Nightline’ interview: locked in a room with a knife
In the ABC News Nightline interview, Juju Chang asked Sweet Magnolias actor Jamie Lynn about an incident she described in her upcoming book, Things I Should Have Said. The 30-year-old described when Britney allegedly took a knife and locked herself and Jamie Lynn in a room because the pop star was scared. Chang asked why Jamie Lynn chose to include that in her book.
“I think that experiencing my own panic attacks and how sometimes we can feel in those moments is important,” Jamie Lynn explained. “But also it’s important to remember that I was a kid in that moment. I was scared. That was an experience I had. But I also was fearful to, like, really say anything because I didn’t want to upset anybody or anything. But I also was so upset that she didn’t feel safe.”
After the interview aired on Jan. 12, Britney responded with a Tweet explaining that she had a 104-degree fever but had to comment. She felt that her sister had no right to say she was “out of control” because Jamie Lynn was hardly around the pop icon at that time. In 2008, when Britney shaved her head and dealt with constant papparazzi attention, the pop icon was 27-years-old; while Jamie Lynn was 17.
Britney Spears fired back at Jamie Lynn Spears knife story on Twitter
On Jan. 14, Britney wrote another Tweet that spoke directly to her sister about Jamie Lynn Spears’ knife story.
“Jamie Lynn… congrats, babe,” Britney began. “You’ve stooped to a whole new level of LOW… I’ve never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such!!! The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest pieces of squash I ever saw in my life and it was way too big for me to cut… So please please stop with these crazy lies for Hollywood books.”
The tweet was full of Britney’s classic emojis so it was written in a cutesy way at first. But then she called her sister, “scum.”
“Now and only now I do know only a scum person would make up such things about someone,” she continued. “I’m actually very confused about you making that up because it’s honestly not like you at all!!! Around the kids???? Jamie Lynn, seriously??? Come on!!! Congrats on introducing your older sister to the concept of getting Low… Lower… Lowest… because you win that one, babe.”
Jamie Lynn Spears wrote her own lengthy Instagram post
If you can’t keep up with the lengthy messages between Britney and Jamie Lynn on their various social media accounts, you are not alone. As of the publishing of this article, Britney shared two tweets on Twitter firing back at her sister for the Nightline and Good Morning America interview. Jamie Lynn wrote one post commenting on the drama, but hers is on Instagram, not Twitter.
“Quite frankly, the things being said are absolutely not the truth, and I have to clarify that,” Jamie Lynn wrote. “Now its getting harder for me to rationalize to my oldest daughter why our family continues to get death threats, as a result of their aunt’s vague and accusatory posts.”
Who is telling the truth? Only the Spears sisters know. They both claim the other is spreading lies. Check back for more updates.
