Britney Spears Fans Think Her ‘Reaction’ to ‘Framing Britney Spears’ Was Faked by Her Team
Britney Spears has finally broken her silence on The New York Times documentary “Framing Britney Spears.” In a recent post shared to her Instagram, the singer addressed the FX documentary, revealing the impact it’s had on her life.
While many fans and fellow celebrities took to the comments to applaud Spears for speaking out, others are convinced her reaction to the bombshell episode didn’t actually come from her.
Britney Spears shares her heartbreaking reaction to the documentary
On Mar. 30, Spears took to Instagram to share a candid post outlining her feelings toward Hulu’s The New York Times Presents episode about her life, titled, “Framing Britney Spears.”
Alongside an Instagram video of herself dancing to “Crazy” by Aerosmith, the singer shared a lengthy caption addressing the impact the media has had on her life all these years.
“My life has always been very speculated … watched … and judged really my whole life !!! For my sanity I need to dance to @iamstevent every night of my life to feel wild and human and alive,” the Grammy winner began. “I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people!!! It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I’ve always been so judged… insulted… and embarrassed by the media … and I still am till this day!!!! As the world keeps on turning and life goes on we still remain so fragile and sensitive as people!!
Spears went on to share her opinion on the FX documentary, which she said made her cry.
“I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in,” she wrote. “I cried for two weeks and well ….I still cry sometimes !!!! I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy … love … and happiness!!!! Every day dancing brings me joy !!! I’m not here to be perfect … perfect is boring … I’m here to pass on kindness !!!!”
Fans are convinced someone on Britney Spears’ team wrote the caption
Not long after Spears addressed the FX documentary for the first time, people took to the comments to share their reactions to her Instagram post.
While some people were happy to see her speaking out against the media and using her voice, others were suspicious of Spears’ caption.
In a series of comments, fans speculated that someone on the “Toxic” singer’s team wrote the caption.
“There is not a single chance she wrote this,” someone specualted. “Not them forcing you to talk smack about the documentary……..” another fan penned.
Even Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause is suspicious of Spear’s post, writing, “Instead of dancing, can we get a video of you typing your own captions next time? I want to believe you it’s you speaking for yourself, but I am skeptical. We love you!”
Showbiz Cheat Sheet reached out to Spears’ reps about someone on her team writing her Instagram caption, but they did not return a request for comment by the time of publication.
Britney Spears’ social media manager says the star runs her own Instagram
Though many have theorized that Spears doesn’t have control over what she posts online, the singer’s social media manager previously denied these claims, noting that they are “inaccurate.”
In February 2021, Cassie Petrey, who, according to Vanity Fair, the singer hired to help run her social media, said that Spears runs her own Instagram, despite what the internet believes.
“Britney creates her own posts and writes her own captions for Instagram,” Petrey wrote in a post shared to her own Instagram on Feb. 2. “She finds the google images, Pinterest images, quotes, memes, and everything else herself. Nobody is suggesting any of that stuff to her.”
Though people were theorizing that Spears was “asking for help” through secret messages posted to her Instagram, Petrey notes that that’s never been the case.
“She is literally just living her life and trying to have fun on Instagram,” Petrey continued. “She has a team to help strategize like any major celebrity generally does at this point in her career.”
She concluded, “[Britney is] having fun creating posts and sharing images she likes. That’s it. There’s not some secret agenda to it. She’s just having a good time and I hope this helps people see it for what it actually is.”
