On August 27, Brittany filed for divorce from Jax, according to court documents obtained by People. She listed their date of separation as January 24, 2024, and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The couple married in June 2019 and have a three-year-old son, Cruz. She’s requesting primary physical and legal custody with visitation for Jax.

After officially calling it quits, Brittany, 35, posted a glammed-up photo of herself on Instagram

“Getting my sparkle back,” she captioned the post.

“Shining bright baby!” her Vanderpump Rules costar Scheana Shay commented.

The caption appears to be a nod to a comment Brittany made in a season 1 episode of Bravo’s The Valley, which follows Jax, Brittany, and other cast members as they navigate life as young parents in suburban Los Angeles.

“I feel like Jax is like sucking the life out of me and sucking away all my sparkle,” she said during a confessional after she and Jax argued about her drinking. “How much more of this can I possibly take? I’m starting to realize all the little things that I have put up with for all nine years of my life.”

The ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star said she needed time away from Jax for her ‘mental health’

Jax and Brittany announced in February 2024 that they had separated. The news came a month ahead of The Valley series premiere.

“Marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year. Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” Brittany said during an episode of their podcast, When Reality Hits

In late July, Jax, 45, entered an inpatient mental health treatment facility.

“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,” a representative told People

“He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment,” the statement continued. “This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”

Soon after, Jax posted a photo of himself and his son on Instagram

“Working on getting better for you and myself buddy,” he wrote. “I love you.”
