Season 7 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine premieres on Feb. 6 on NBC. While this is exciting news for fans of the show, there is something even better in store. Starting on Feb. 3, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has its own official podcast series.

Marc Evan Jackson hosts the ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ podcast

In Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Jackson plays Captain Holt’s husband Kevin Cozner. The actor played a demon named Shawn in The Good Place, which concluded its final season on Jan. 30. The Good Place had a podcast during its run which Jackson hosted, so filling in as the host of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine podcast seems fitting.

Instead of doing a weekly episode recap for the upcoming seventh season, Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Podcast only has six episodes. Each episode focuses on a past season of the show and examines the history of the show onscreen and offscreen. All of the episodes are currently available for fans.

NBC released a short trailer for Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Podcast on YouTube. The trailer lists some of the guests for the podcast including show co-creator Dan Goor and cast members Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Nicole Byer, and Ken Marino.

Season 7 of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ will feature a lot of change

At the end of season 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Captain Holt was demoted to a patrol officer after failing to complete his officer training. Lieutenant Terry Jeffords is in charge of the squad in his place. In a behind-the-scenes trailer, the cast of the show talked about what is in store for the characters.

“This season, things have been shaken up,” Andre Braugher, who plays Holt, says in the trailer. “The lieutenant is in charge of the precinct.”

Lo Truglio, who plays Charles Boyle, said, “The rest of the squad is learning how to relate to Lieutenant Terry Jeffords running the show.”

“The fact is is that he’s still captain to us, but it’s such a different position for him,” said Terry Crews, who plays Jeffords in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

The show has released a couple preview clips

To get fans excited for the season premiere of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, NBC has released a couple of trailers. One trailer was an ’80s-themed trailer and another was a first look trailer featuring cast interviews. Both of the trailers showed the characters briefly reuniting with Holt.

Lieutenant Jeffords tells everyone that there was an assassination attempt, but the suspect is still at large. Jake Peralta and the rest of the detectives show up to the crime scene and meet Vanessa Bayer’s character Debbie Fogle.

“Who’s responsible for securing the area?” Peralta asks in the first look trailer. “Who screwed this up?”

“I’m so sorry,” Debbie says. “It’s my partner’s first week on the job, so he’s still learning the ropes.”

“I don’t have time for this incompetence. I want your partner off the case. What’s his name?” Peralta asks.

Holt then says, “It’s Raymond Holt,” causing Peralta to look behind him.

Based on this interaction, it will be interesting to see how Holt and the squad adjust to Holt’s demotion in the new season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
