It is officially comeback season for BTS. BTS’ next single “Life Goes On” will be released on Nov. 20 with their album BE (Deluxe Edition).

BTS are self-producing the album

BTS first announced they were working on an album in April, and Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook all began uploading YouTube Lives to discuss the album-making process with fans. In addition to sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the album, the members showed their different roles in self-producing the album.

At midnight KST on Sept. 28 and 11 a.m. ET on Sept. 27, Big Hit Entertainment revealed BTS’ next album is called BE (Deluxe Edition). Pre-orders went on sale at 11 a.m. KST on Sept. 28, and the album will be released at midnight ET on Nov. 20.

A press release about the album says BE (Deluxe Edition) shows the members’ “thoughts, emotions and deepest ruminations” and contains the “most ‘BTS-ish’ music yet.”

The album’s lead single is called ‘Life Goes On’

On Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. ET, Big Hit Entertainment released a teaser image for BTS’ next lead single, revealing that the title of the song is “Life Goes On.” The song will be released at the same time as BE (Deluxe Edition) at midnight ET on Nov. 20.

Fans will see the song performed for the first time on Nov. 22 at the 2020 American Music Awards. Following the release of the song’s title, Big Hit Entertainment released two concept videos for the album at 11 a.m. ET on Oct. 31.

One video was titled “#BTS_BE Concept Clip (Reflection ver.)” and showed the BTS members each stepping up to look into the camera. The second video was titled “#BTS_BE Concept Clip (Mirror ver.)” and showed the members from a different angle looking into a mirror.

Since releasing the concept videos, Big Hit Entertainment has begun releasing individual concept photos for each of the members. V’s photos were released first on Nov. 1. The photos were tagged with “#Curated_by_BTS” and included a link that takes fans to an interactive version of the photos. The interactive version includes audio clips from V explaining the decisions he made while curating the photos.

BTS hinted about the song’s title

While the announcement about “Life Goes On” still made waves, the song’s title was not much of a shock for ARMY. This is because BTS hinted about the song’s theme back on Sept. 22 when the K-pop group streamed a video on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel.

Dated for August 2020, the video stream showed the members discussing how they wanted to film a music video. At the time, fans assumed the music video in question was for BTS’ next lead single.

“What about making something like Jungkook’s Golden Closet Films?” J-Hope suggested.

“It’s about ‘Life goes on,'” RM said. “We can show that life goes on by showing how we live our everyday lives… We can include studio shots and of us getting on and off the car and going back home after work… Because the song itself says life goes on, no matter what.”
