BTS: Big Hit Music Shares ‘Butter’ Concept Photos for Jin and Suga
To promote BTS’ upcoming single “Butter,” Big Hit Music has been sharing teasers for the single on social media. On May 12, the label published individual teaser photos for BTS members Jin and Suga. In the photos, Jin and Suga showed off similar white attire and dark hair.
BTS will release a new single called ‘Butter’
On April 26, a livestream began on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel at 10 a.m. EDT. The livestream lasted until 11 a.m. EDT, and for an hour fans watched an animated stick of butter melt into a heart.
When the livestream ended, it was revealed that BTS will release a single called “Butter” at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST on May 21.
A press release was sent to media following the announcement and says, “‘Butter’ is a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS. This song is the second English single following ‘Dynamite’ released in August last year.”
Following the announcement for “Butter,” Big Hit Music shared a promotion schedule for the song. The first teaser for the single, a concept poster, was released on May 1.
On May 3, May 4, and May 5, individual concept clips for each BTS member were published online. The teaser clips were released in sub-units, and each teaser featured blue and pink lighting while referencing the teaser poster.
RM and Jungkook’s clips were shared on May 3, Jin and Suga’s clips were posted on May 4, and J-Hope, Jimin, and V’s concept teasers were released on May 5.
Big Hit Music shared concept photos for Jin and Suga
On May 9, the first official teaser photo for “Butter” was shared online. The teaser image is titled “Group Teaser Photo 1” and shows Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook wearing formal attire. Multiple members also sported new hair colors.
A press release described the teaser as a “charismatic teaser photo where each member is sporting suits and alluring charm of their own.”
Following the same sub-unit pattern as the concept clips, Big Hit Music shared individual teaser photos of RM and Jungkook first. The teaser photos showed the two BTS members in the same outfits they wore in the group teaser and were posted on May 11.
The next day on May 12, Big Hit Music published teaser photos for Jin and Suga. Both photos show Jin and Suga leaning in a doorway while wearing all-white outfits.
BTS will perform ‘Butter’ at the Billboard Music Awards
J-Hope, Jimin, and V’s individual teaser photos will be shared on May 13 at 11 a.m. EDT. “Teaser Photo 2” will be published on May 16 at 11 a.m. EDT, and BTS will release a music video teaser for “Butter” at 11 a.m. EDT on May 18.
“Butter” will be released on May 21, and BTS will put on their first performance of the song at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on May 23.
