BTS Fans Love Beyoncé’s Birthday Shout-Out to Jungkook
Every day, K-Pop fans rule Twitter with their undefeated dedication to BTS and other artists in the genre. But they recently had Beyoncé trending on the platform, and it had nothing to do with her music, family, or Ivy Park. Instead, fans celebrated Jungkook’s birthday and reveled in the fact that the singer recognized his special day too. For those who don’t know, it’s officially Virgo season.
Beyoncé adds Jungkook to her birthday shout-out board
Leave it to Queen Bey to rile the masses when she spreads birthday love. The megastar went the extra mile with her recent Beyonce.com website update to highlight celebrity b-days, and they’re all Virgos like her. BTS favorite Jungkook made the cut in her “Virgo Season Yearbook,” and in true Beyoncé fashion, she included a childhood photo of him. And the BTS Army loves it.
His picture sits in a row along with Jada Pinkett Smith and Jennifer Hudson, but the yearbook also features Cameron Diaz, Leslie Jones, Prince Harry, Zendaya, Sanaa Lathan, Taraji P. Henson, and Amy Winehouse. There’s a special MVP section with a tribute to Kobe Bryant.
On Twitter, BTS fans reacted with heart emojis, and many were pleasantly surprised. And a few fans want a collaboration between Beyoncé and the group.
Jungkook’s birthday is Sept. 1, a date he shares in common with Zendaya, Gloria Estefan, and Lily Tomlin.
BTS and Beyoncé met in 2020
During Grammy Awards season 2020, BTS met Mr. and Mrs. Carter (Beyoncé and Jay-Z) ahead of the festivities. Although there isn’t any video or photo evidence that captured the moment, the band mentioned it while on the red carpet for the event, according to Metro U.K. News.
And back in July, Los Angeles-based producer and songwriter Sleep Deez confirmed that Beyoncé liked Jungkook’s “My Time” solo track. Sleep Deez worked with BTS on several projects and answered the Beyoncé question during a Reddit AMA session. He first shared the information in a May 2020 tweet but reaffirmed it during the chat.
Beyoncé and baby pictures are her birthday M.O.
Beyoncé has developed an astonishing system of acquiring people’s photos from various stages of their childhoods. It’s become a mystery. Typically, she sends birthday wishes to public figures with a message accompanied by a baby photo or school snapshot that sometimes catches fans off guard.
Once in a while, the pictures simply feature teenage or twenty-something versions of one’s favorite celebrity. But fans know they can count on Beyoncé to come through with the sweet baby picture.
Why celebrate Virgo season? Beyoncé turns 40 on September 4, a milestone she recently discussed during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. With a career that spans decades and a passion for creativity, she plans to keep evolving artistically.
As for Jungkook, he celebrates his 23rd birthday this year, and his fans love to turn the occasion into a holiday. Cruises, LED artwork, fireworks displays, and other events commemorate him on social media and in real life. Because Jungkook’s been with the band since 2013, this Beyoncé shout-out is extra special icing on the cake.
