BTS’ ‘Film Out’ Is Connected to ‘Fake Love’ According to This Fan Theory
BTS never stops giving their fans what they want. Jungkook, Jin, V, RM, Suga, J-Hope, and Jimin recently dazzled fans with their performance at the 2021 Grammys, and though they didn’t take home any awards that night, they said they would continue to push out amazing music and stay connected with their fans.
The seven-man group clearly wasn’t kidding since they’ve already announced their plans for their forthcoming Japanese album, The Best, a follow-up to BTS’s previous 2020 Japanese album, Map of the Soul: The Journey.
There is still a bit of time before the album drops. Still, fans should be delighted that BTS has already announced their lead single, “Film Out,” which will also serve as the ending theme song for the upcoming Japanese movie SIGNAL The Movie Cold Case Investigation Unit. Now, the BTS ARMY has found a connection between “Film Out” and “Fake Love.”
BTS’ new Japanese album ‘The Best’ will debut June 16
SIGNAL The Movie Cold Case Investigation Unit is set to drop in theaters on April 2, and BTS is set to release the music video for “Film Out” the same day. However, The Best is not expected to be released until June 16.
However, BTS fans can begin their process of preparation now. The album is already available for pre-order through BTS’ Japan Official Shop, Universal Music Store, and Seven Net.
The double-sided album will include a total of 23 tracks with BTS’s greatest Japanese hits. The physical album will also include a slew of goodies with options for different versions. The limited-edition A version comes with two CDs and a Blu Ray disc, the first limited edition B version comes with two CDS and two DVDs, and the first limited edition C version will have two CDs, a 112-page photo booklet, and two stickers.
BTS’ just dropped the teaser trailer for ‘Film Out’
Since fans are so anxious to hear new music, BTS has already dropped the teaser trailer for “Film Out.” The teaser reveals the melody of the song and shows a visual of Jungkook, standing in a room full of furniture that is draped in white sheets.
In another shot, the entire band stands together washed in blue light, and in a final shot, Jin is seen running toward the camera. Though the entire music video is still in the vault, fans are already connecting “Film Out” to BTS’ 2018 song “Fake Love” from their Love Yourself: Tears album.
BTS fans are convinced that ‘Film Out’ is connected to ‘Fake Love’
Many BTS music videos take place in the Bangtan Universe or BU. In the BU, Jungkook, Jin, V, RM, Suga, J-Hope, and Jimin play their own characters which sometimes involves time travel or alternative timelines. When a BTS music video does take place in the BU it’s typically labeled, “BU content certified by Big Hit Entertainment.”
“Film Out,” which was written by Jungkook and Back Number, doesn’t have this label in the teaser, but fans are convinced of its connection to “Fake Love.”
From what we’ve seen so far, many of the shots and scenery are similar. In “Fake Love,” there is a shot of Jungkook running toward the camera, just like Jin does in “Film Out.”
Fans are digging into the videos even more now, but we’re going to have to wait until April 2 to see how things pan out.
