BTS: J-Hope, Jimin, and V Show Off Their Dance Moves With New ‘Butter’ Concept Clips
To build anticipation for their upcoming single “Butter,” the members of BTS are releasing concept clips for the song on social media. On May 5, Big Hit Music released the “Butter” concept clips for BTS members J-Hope, Jimin, and V.
What we know about BTS’ song ‘Butter’
On April 26, BTS announced the release of “Butter” with an hour-long livestream on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel. During the livestream, an animated stick of butter melted into a heart to reveal the title of BTS’ next single is “Butter.” The livestream also announced that the song will be released on May 21 at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST.
According to a press release, “‘Butter’ is a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS. This song is the second English single following ‘Dynamite’ released in August last year.”
Big Hit Music released a promotion schedule of teasers for “Butter” on April 28. The first teaser for “Butter,” a poster of seven photographs, was released on May 1.
The images featured on the teaser poster are of yellow balloons with smiley faces, heart-shaped confetti, a drink, toast with heart-shaped butter, a camera and film, spilled gummy candy, and a crushed lollipop.
J-Hope, Jimin, and V of BTS released concept clips for ‘Butter’
After the teaser poster was published online, Big Hit Music released concept clips for RM and Jungkook on May 3. RM shoots off a confetti popper in his concept clip and Jungkook spreads butter on toast, showing that each member’s concept clip is connected to the seven images on the poster.
On May 4, concept clips for Jin and Suga were released online. In the teaser clips, Jin carries a handful of yellow balloons and Suga takes photographs with a camera.
The final three concept clips for “Butter” were shared online on May 5 when Big Hit Music posted clips of J-Hope, Jimin, and V of BTS. Like BTS members’ previous concept clips, J-Hope, Jimin, and V’s teaser videos featured blue and pink lighting and instrumental music.
In J-Hope’s teaser, the BTS rapper poses with a yellow lollipop and dances. In multiple repetitive shots, J-Hope throws the lollipop on the ground and it breaks.
Jimin’s concept clip features the drink from the teaser poster in a glass bottle. The BTS singer dances, takes a sip of the drink from the bottle, and stares into the camera.
Like Jimin and J-Hope’s teasers, V dances throughout his concept clip. While dancing, he shows off a film strip of photos of himself and eats gummy candy. Toward the end of the teaser, V tosses the candy to the ground.
How many teasers for ‘Butter’ are left?
While there are no more concept clips left to be released, there are still multiple teasers for “Butter” that BTS fans can look forward to. Teaser photos called “Teaser Photo 1” will be released at 11 a.m. EDT on May 9, May 11, May 12, and May 13.
The last teaser photo is called “Teaser Photo 2,” and it will be shared online at 11 a.m. EDT on May 16. The septet will release an official music video teaser for “Butter” at 11 a.m. EDT on May 18.
BTS will release “Butter” and the single’s music video on May 21 at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST.
