BTS: Jungkook and RM Just Shared Some Subtle Clues With Fans About Upcoming Single ‘Butter’
BTS will release their new English-language single “Butter” on May 21. Leading up to the premiere of the single, the Korean band will release multiple teasers to give ARMY hints about the song. On May 3, Big Hit Music posted concept clips for RM and Jungkook, and the clips give BTS fans an idea of what to expect from “Butter.”
BTS will release ‘Butter’ on May 21
On April 26 at 10 a.m. EDT, a mysterious livestream started on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel. The livestream lasted for an hour, and during the livestream fans watched as an animated stick of butter melted into the shape of a heart.
At 11 a.m. EDT on April 26, the livestream showed the official logo for the single “Butter” and revealed that Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will release the single on May 21 at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST.
A press release gave more details about the song, and according to the press release, “‘Butter’ is a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS. This song is the second English single following ‘Dynamite’ released in August last year.”
Jungkook and RM of BTS released concept clips for ‘Butter’
On May 1, Big Hit Music released the first concept clip for “Butter,” a poster containing seven photographs. The seven images show yellow balloons with smiley faces, heart-shaped confetti on the floor, a drink being poured, toast with a heart, a camera with film, spilled gummy candy, and a crushed lollipop.
Concept clips for RM and Jungkook were released on May 3 at 11 a.m. EDT. Based on the new concept clips for RM and Jungkook, one can deduce that each image on the concept poster represents one of the members.
In Jungkook’s clip, the BTS singer spreads butter on toast, makes faces at the camera, and dances. RM paces back and forth in front of the camera, taps his foot repeatedly, turns on a lamp in the room, and shoots off a confetti popper. Both concept clips for RM and Jungkook feature blue and pink lighting and the same instrumental music.
Because Jungkook’s teaser clip includes the toast and RM’s teaser features the red confetti, one can assume the other BTS members will interact with the yellow balloons, drink, camera, gummy candy, and lollipop in their concept clips.
More teasers for ‘Butter’ will be released
On April 28, Big Hit Music shared a promotion schedule for “Butter.” So far, a teaser poster and two concept clips for “Butter” have been released.
On May 4, a third concept clip will be released at 11 a.m. EDT, and the last set of concept clips will be released on May 5 at 11 a.m. EDT. Teaser photos called “Teaser Photo 1” will be released on May 9, May 11, May 12, and May 13 at 11 a.m. EDT.
A teaser photo called “Teaser Photo 2” will be released at 11 a.m. EDT on May 16. The official music video teaser for “Butter” will be posted online on May 18 at 11 a.m. EDT.
The single “Butter” and its music video will be released on May 21 at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST.
