This BTS Member Considers His Father To Be 1 of His Biggest Musical Inspirations
He’s a singer, dancer, dog owner, photographer, and songwriter. V is a member of the award-winning K-pop group, BTS, along with RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, Jimin, and Jungkook.
Even before he was a chart-topping artist, this idol was inspired to pursue music by the people in his family. Particularly, his father was a musical inspiration.
V said that one of his biggest musical inspirations is his father
During one interview with Time Magazine, the BTS members answered questions about their music and their favorite artists. One of the questions RM asked his fellow performers was when they were a kid, who was their biggest musical inspiration?
J-Hope said Usher, doing a little dance to show his love. Suga shouted out a few rappers, including Jay-Z. Jimin jokingly said RM. V said that his father was one of his biggest musical inspirations.
It was V’s father who encouraged this artist to pick up an instrument. As a result, V learned the saxophone. Later, he auditioned for Big Hit Entertainment, (now HYBE Corporation,) and became one of the singers and dancers in BTS.
It was this push from his father that even inspired V’s secondary career goals. During an interview with The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, V said that if he wasn’t in BTS, he would probably be a saxophone player.
V is one of the seven members of BTS
Although he was raised primarily by his grandmother, he still had a close relationship with his father as a child. During one video, the idol shared that his father supported him, both with music and with life.
“I was raised by my grandmother and my dad came on weekends,” V said, according to K-Star Live. “When I was with him in the car, he often gave me allowance money. I think I can be in this place now all thanks to my father.”
BTS released songs like ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Life Goes On’
As one of the seven members of BTS, V acts as a singer, dancer, and even a songwriter, performing on songs like “Boy With Luv” and “Life Goes On.” For the K-pop group’s album, Be (Deluxe Edition,) Kim Taehyung helped create the song “Blue & Grey,” which they later performed during their MTV Unplugged segment.
In addition to his role with BTS, V sometimes releases solo music under the same stage name. That includes his all-English song, “Winter Bear,” which came with a music video showcasing V’s love for photography.
The “Life Goes On” music video by BTS is now available for streaming on YouTube. The K-pop group’s deluxe album, titled Be, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
