The BTS performers may not always agree, especially when it comes to ice cream flavors and toppings. Thanks to one interview, fans learned a little more about what their favorite flavors are, especially when it comes to the “chocolate or vanilla” debate.

The BTS members often share their favorite foods, including ice cream

They’re award-winning, chart-topping performers. These K-pop idols released songs like “Dynamite” and “Boy With Luv,” earning recognition at award shows like the MTV Video Music Awards and even performing “Old Town Road” with Lil Nas X at the Grammy Awards.

Together, the BTS members often share their love for Shake Shack, Panda Express, and In-N-Out Burger. When it comes to their favorite ice cream flavors, though, this K-pop group is pretty split. They further elaborated on their choices during a 2020 interview.

Do the BTS members like chocolate or vanilla more?

For one video with SiriusXM, the BTS members shared their opinions on a variety of topics. While most members picked sweet snacks, Suga picked salty. When most members picked hanging out on a tropical island, RM picked hiking in the woods.

Then, the question became which flavor is better, chocolate or vanilla? Three BTS members picked vanilla — Suga, Jungkook, and V. The other four members, RM, Jin, Jimin, and J-Hope, chose chocolate.

“I can’t associate with vanilla,” RM said, after the members shared their favorite flavors.

Jungkook loves ice cream with plenty of toppings

This wouldn’t be the first time fans learned about BTS’ favorite ice cream flavors. For one Bangtan Bomb, Jin and Jungkook tested out the two flavors of a soft-serve machine. Jungkook topped his chocolate cup with plenty of sprinkles, candy, and nuts.

During another video, Jungkook and RM picked up some ice cream, with both of them picking chocolate as the flavor. RM just got a cone to go, while Jungkook loaded his plate up with toppings and whipped cream. When RM said he doesn’t know why people like whipped cream, Jungkook responded, “harmony.”

When it comes to the iconic mint chocolate chip debate, according to Soompi, RM went so far as to say, “combining precious chocolate with toothpaste flavor is sacrilegious.” However, two other members of this group, Jungkook and J-Hope, like it.

“I like green tea, mint chocolate, [and] red bean popsicle,” Jungkook explained during one video. “You know those fruity flavors? Sweet, tangy and tart, stuff like that? I don’t like them. I like mild flavors.”

The “Dynamite” music video is now available on YouTube. Music by BTS, including their recently released album, Map of the Soul: 7, is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major platforms.
