Why the BTS Members Will Never Give Up ‘Save Me’
From “Idol” to “Boy With Luv” to “Dynamite,” BTS released several well-known original songs. Even though it was released over five years ago, “Save Me” is still a fan-favorite track, making it to several live performances and even BTS’ NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
BTS’ ‘Save Me’ appeared on ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever’
BTS earned Grammy nominations for “Butter” and “Dynamite.” They collaborated with Halsey on “Boy With Luv” and appeared on Coldplay’s “My Universe.” Some older releases even stand out as fan favorites. (Or even favorite originals of these idols.)
That includes The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever’s “Save Me.” As with most BTS songs, some members had a role in creating “Save Me.” That includes the rap line (RM, Suga, and J-Hope), who collaborated on the track with their producer Pdogg.
Based on Jimin’s 2020 Spotify playlist, “Save Me” is among this artist’s favorite songs, earning a place alongside “Epilogue: Young Forever,” “On,” “Filter,” and “We are Bulletproof: The Eternal.” According to one Quora user from 2019, when these BTS members were asked about their favorite songs, V said he preferred “Save Me.”
According to Sports Keeda, J-Hope mentioned “Save Me” is one of his favorite BTS music videos. That could be because of its elaborate choreography showcased by all seven members. This production debuted in 2016 — several years after BTS officially debuted as a group. Since then, it has earned over 650 million views.
“‘Save Me’ has the best choreography,” one ARMY commented on the YouTube clip. “BTS proved that they don’t need any artificial set or any fashionable clothes to prove their talents. This MV is so realistic and heartening. Their voices [are] so soothing.”
BTS’ ‘Save Me’ is a fan-favorite original song
According to setlist.fm, “Save Me” is among BTS’ most played songs during live shows. The group performed it over 80 times. (That could be attributed to the years between “Save Me,” and recent releases like “Life Goes On” and “Permission to Dance.”)
Why is this BTS song so popular? It could be because of its choreography or its fun, upbeat sound. Regardless of the reason, ARMYs often share their love for this song and other BTS originals.
“It’s been over three years since this released, and I’m still not over the choreography and I don’t think I ever will,” a fan commented on the YouTube music video, while another wrote, “One of my favorite BTS songs ever, one of the most significant recordings of their career.”
BTS performed ‘Save Me’ during their NPR ‘Tiny Desk Concert’
Even years after its release, “Save Me” appeared in several BTS setlists. When these artists performed their NPR Tiny Desk Concert, the K-pop group started their set with the chart-topping song “Dynamite.” The band then went into a rendition of “Save Me” with their live band, followed by “Spring Day.”
