BTS performed at the Grammy Awards in 2020
2021 marks the first year the K-pop group is nominated for a Grammy Award. However, it will be the band’s third year in a row being included in the awards show and the septet’s second year performing.
In 2019, BTS made history by becoming the first Korean act to present at the Grammy Awards when Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook presented the award for Best R&B. At the 2019 awards ceremony, HuskyFox was also nominated for Best Recording Package for BTS’ album Love Yourself: Tear.
The Korean band became the first Korean act to perform at the Grammy Awards in 2020. The septet took part in the “Old Town Road All-Stars” performance with Billy Ray Cyrus, Lil Nas X, Diplo, and Mason Ramsey.
BTS will most likely perform ‘Dynamite’
BTS released “Dynamite” on Aug. 21, 2020, and the song is the K-pop group’s first song to be sung entirely in English. At the time of its release, the disco-pop track set numerous records.
The song’s music video reached 101.1 million views in 24 hours, becoming the most-viewed video within its first 24 hours on YouTube. When the song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, BTS earned their first No. 1 song on the chart.
The septet also became the first all-South Korean group to hit No. 1 on the Hot 100. “Dynamite” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 a total of three times.
Given that they are nominated for “Dynamite,” it seems likely that BTS will perform “Dynamite” at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
