Super Bowl LVI took place on Feb. 13 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The game was played between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cinncinati Bengals, with the Rams ultimately winning the game. While BTS did not perform at the Super Bowl, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook held four sold-out concerts at SoFi Stadium in 2021.

BTS held sold-out concerts at the same stadium the 2022 Super Bowl was played

The 2022 Super Bowl was held at SoFi Stadium, which happens to be the home stadium for the Los Angeles Rams.

On Nov. 27, Nov. 28, Dec. 1, and Dec. 2, 2021, BTS put on Permission to Dance On Stage – LA at SoFi Stadium. The four-night concert event marked the band’s first in-person concerts since Love Yourself: Speak Yourself [The Final] in Seoul.

BTS became the first music act to sell out four nights at the stadium with Permission to Dance On Stage – LA. The septet also set the record for the most tickets sold at SoFi Stadium by a band or artist.

According to a press release, “The total number of audience including concertgoers at SoFi Stadium, viewers who watched the online live streaming of the last show (Dec 2), as well as fans who viewed the real-time live screening event at a nearby venue in LA (‘LIVE PLAY in LA’) summed to approximately 813,000.”

What songs did BTS perform for ‘Permission to Dance On Stage – LA’?

Permission to Dance On Stage – LA featured a different setlist to some degree each night. Two of the concerts featured surprise guest appearances, and BTS swapped around a few songs every performance.

The setlist for the LA concerts always included:

The first day of BTS’ LA concerts also featured “I Need U,” “We are Bulletproof : the Eternal,” and “Answer: Love Myself.”

On the second day of Permission to Dance On Stage – LA, Megan Thee Stallion performed “Butter” with the band, and BTS performed “I’m Fine,” “Epilogue: Young Forever,” and “Spring Day.”

The setlist on the third night included “I Need U,” “Spring Day,” and “Answer: Love Myself.”

For the last night of Permission to Dance On Stage – LA, BTS included “I Need U,” “HOME,” and “Mikrokosmos” on the setlist. Instead of ending the concert with “Permission to Dance,” Chris Martin of Coldplay performed “My Universe” with Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

BTS will hold more concerts in March 2022

After Permission to Dance On Stage – LA concluded, BTS announced their plan to put on Permission to Dance On Stage – Seoul in March. The band will also release a new album sometime in 2022.

“BTS will be focusing on preparing for the concert and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a ‘new chapter,’” Big Hit Music wrote in the statement. “They are preparing for a concert this coming March to connect and communicate with the fans in-person in Seoul.”
