BTS: RM and Jungkook Cry During an Emotional Farewell to the ‘Love Yourself’ Era and ARMY Is in Tears
We’re not crying, you’re crying. BTS just wrapped its most-recent era with the final Love Yourself: Speak Yourself concert on Oct. 29 in Seoul. Of course, ARMY is trapped in a glass case of emotion. But, no one is as emotional as the BTS members themselves, especially our president, RM, and our golden maknae, Jungkook. During his end mentions, RM cried while bidding farewell to BTS’ Love Yourself era. Meanwhile, Jungkook broke down during the final performance of “Mikrokosmos.” And quite frankly, their reactions will stay with fans until the very end.

In all honesty, every member of BTS — including RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — had phenomenal Love Yourself era end mentions. However, RM’s speech hit ARMY right in the feels.
According to a fan’s translation on Twitter, RM reflected on the Love Yourself journey. However, he ensured fans the meaning behind the era will continue to live on.
“While the concept of LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF finishes here, since the journey, the road, of finding how to love ourselves doesn’t finish here, in the future too,” the ARMY account translated. “Let’s hold hands as we are now, and be together as we work out how to love ourselves.”
The BTS leader also expressed his hope for fans to continue discovering self-love with their lyrics, no matter what concept the group does next. And then RM started fighting back tears as he bid farewell to the era.
“I think I’ll be regretful we can’t do this LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF ’18 tour in the future,” RM said, letting out a few cries. “It’d be good if there was a better word than ‘love,’ but truly, I love you. Please know that.”
Jungkook cries during BTS’ final ‘Mikrokosmos’ performance
RM wasn’t the only BTS member to shed a few tears, as Jungkook started to cry during the final performance of “Mikrokosmos,” which was the K-pop group’s last song of the night.
The “Euphoria” singer typically kicks off the song. However, when he began his verse, Jungkook was seen with his eyes closed and tears streaming down his face. But, fortunately, Jungkook’s BTS brothers were there to cheer him up.
Later in the song, Jimin was seen hugging Jungkook in an attempt to comfort the latter. And by the end of the song, Jungkook was all smiles as he waved goodbye to ARMY.

Although he didn’t shed any tears, hawkeyed ARMY noticed Jin appeared glossy-eyed during his final Love Yourself speech. However, Jin seemingly held back tears and tried to make ARMY laugh with his famous hand kisses.
“As I was singing ‘Epiphany’ today, I felt sad thinking it was the last time to perform this song,” Jin said, according to The Korea Herald. “And on the stage, I saw you all, and it made me smile. We will work hard to prepare for new album and return with a good concert! We love you!”
ARMY reacts to BTS’ tearful ‘Love Yourself’ era farewell
After the BTS ‘Love Yourself: Speak Yourself’ [The Final] concert ended, fans took the conversation to social media. And naturally, ARMY had strong feelings about the emotions displayed by the members.
“Joon cried during his ment and jungkook cried while listening to him and seeing him cry and kept crying during mikrokosmos,” a fan on Twitter shared. “Seokjin blew a kiss while being teary eyed ,, taehyung said they will always come back to us… the streamers were crying im crying everyone is fkn cŕyinf.”
Nevertheless, fans pointed out the tears shed by BTS and ARMY prove just how important the K-pop group is to the globe. And following the final show, #ThankYouBTS trended worldwide, where BTS fans expressed their gratitude for all the hard work in the Love Yourself era.
“Today may have been the end, but also the beginning of a new era.” a fan tweeted. “Today was also a reminder that no matter what, we’ll come back to each other & that we should continue to find ways to love ourselves. Thank you for the beautiful memories [BTS].”
The saying is true — ARMYs are the stars embroidered across the BTS galaxy. And we may have just closed the final chapter of the Love Yourself era. But clearly, the message portrayed by RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, will remain in the hearts of ARMY forever.
