For the past few months, whenever the members of BTS were asked about their new goal, they answered that they wanted to perform a solo stage at the Grammy Awards and receive a nomination. On Nov. 14, BTS appeared on KBS’ Immortal Songs, and RM revealed that the Korean band has a new dream. Now, what BTS want most is to perform an offline concert in front of fans.

BTS performed two online concerts this year

On April 28, Big Hit Entertainment announced that BTS’ entire Map of the Soul Tour will be rescheduled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Previously, the company had canceled the tour’s concert dates in Seoul and postponed the North American tour dates

Unable to perform offline concerts for the time being, the K-pop group put on a virtual concert called “Bang Bang Con The Live” on June 14. The concert set a record for the biggest global audience to attend a paid virtual concert with 756,600 concurrent viewers. The concert also earned BTS the Guinness World Record for the most-viewed concert livestream of all time.

On Oct. 10 and Oct. 11, BTS performed two days of an online concert called “Map of the Soul ON:E.” With this concert, the band members performed songs from their 2020 album Map of the Soul: 7, showing fans what they would have performed for their Map of the Soul Tour.

Originally, “Map of the Soul ON:E” was supposed to be held offline with a limited audience along with a simultaneous online livestream. However, in the weeks leading up to the concert, the in-person aspect of the concert was canceled and “Map of the Soul ON:E” was held solely online.

BTS’ new dream is to perform an offline concert with fans

For a long time, one of BTS’ main goals was to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They achieved this with their single “Dynamite,” leading many to ask BTS about their next goal. For a few months, the band answered that they hoped to be nominated at the Grammy Awards and perform a solo stage.

While on Immortal Songs, RM acknowledged that while BTS still have dreams involving the Grammy Awards, they have a new dream as well.

“Let’s just confidently say that we want a Grammy.” he said according to Soompi. “As many people might expect, that’s one of our goals down the line. But ironically, doing an ‘offline’ concert has become our new dream. We hope the day will soon come when we can share a stage with an audience again. That’s our goal now.”

The band will release a new album called ‘BE’

On Nov. 20, the septet will release an album titled BE (Deluxe Edition). The album consists of eight tracks: “Life Goes On,” “Fly To My Room,” “Blue & Grey,” “Skit,” “Telepathy,” “Dis-ease,” “Stay,” and “Dynamite.”

“Life Goes On” is the album’s lead single, and BTS will perform the song for the first time on Nov. 22 at the 2020 American Music Awards. The members are also self-producing BE (Deluxe Edition) and were involved in the album’s concept, music production, and design.
