BTS Win Best Music Video and Best Fan Army at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards
The 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards took place on March 22. At the award show, BTS took home the awards for Best Music Video and Best Fan Army. While Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook did not attend the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards in person, the band did send in a virtual acceptance speech.
BTS won two awards at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards
At the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, BTS were nominated for Best Duo/Group of the Year, Best Fan Army, and Best Music Video.
In the Best Duo/Group of the Year category, AJR, BTS, Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic, Dan + Shay, and Maroon 5 were nominated. Silk Sonic took home the award for Best Duo/Group of the Year.
BTS won in the other two categories they were nominated in at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, and both Best Fan Army and Best Music Video were fan-voted categories.
In the Best Fan Army category, BTS’ fandom ARMY won over Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Megan Thee Stallion, Why Don’t We, Olivia Rodrigo, Louis Tomlinson, Big Time Rush, Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift‘s fan bases.
BTS won Best Music Video for their music video “Butter.” The band’s “Butter” music video won over the music videos for:

- “Build a B*tch,” Bella Poarch
- “drivers license,” Olivia Rodrigo
- “Kiss Me More,” Doja Cat featuring SZA
- “Leave The Door Open,” Silk Sonic
- “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name),” Lil Nas X
- “Peaches,” Justin Bieber featuring Daniel Caesar, Giveon
- “Save Your Tears,” The Weeknd
- “Stay,” The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber
BTS gave an acceptance speech for their 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards wins
After BTS were announced as the winners of Best Music Video and Best Fan Army, iHeartRadio shared a video of BTS’ acceptance speech.
“Thank you iHeartRadio Music Awards and ARMY for Best Music Video and Best Fan Army awards,” Jungkook said in the band’s acceptance speech.
“We have always been together, and ARMY you are always amazing,” J-Hope added.
BTS fans celebrated the band’s wins
When BTS were revealed to be the winners of Best Music Video and Best Fan Army, BTS fans celebrated the septet’s wins from the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards on social media.
“Congrats to our boys and to all armys that have voted,” wrote a Reddit user.
One fan wrote on Reddit, “Congrats BTS!!! You got Army right behind you!!! Two iHeart Awards!!! Yoongi’s English, Joon mocking Jungkook haha, and they are all looking great here!”
Another fan wrote on Reddit, “If ARMY didn’t win the fan army award, that would’ve been awkward. Our name is pretty much in the title! Glad we were able to pull through and get BTS the much deserved award!”
