BTS’s Jungkook Once Gave a Clever Answer to a Fan’s Marriage Proposal
BTS is one of the biggest groups in the world right now, and the members have admirers everywhere. Some fans also have crushes on the BTS members and dream of marrying them someday. In one instance, a fan proposed marriage to Jungkook, and the youngest member gave a clever response.
What Jungkook said when a fan proposed to him
During a live stream in June 2019, a fan told Jungkook, “Marry me,” in the comment section. Jungkook and the BTS members get many love-filled messages from fans during live streams, though he decided to respond to this one.
“If you want to marry me,” Jungkook said, “we’d need paperwork. We have to meet each other’s parents. Let’s go meet the family.”
Jungkook once said he wanted to get marry at the age of 100
It’s clear Jungkook was simply joking during the live stream, as many celebrities often do when they get marriage proposals from fans.
In fact, a few years before, he said that he would not get married until he was 100. According to Koreaboo, a fan attended a BTS fansign event in 2015 and shared that they asked the members which age they would like to get married at.
While most of the members said anywhere from their early to mid-30s, Jungkook and J-Hope both put 100 as their ideal age. They did not explain what this meant exactly—and whether they were being serious or not—but it did give fans something to think about.
The BTS members once said Jungkook would be the first to get married
It seems anyone who wants an actual timeline for Jungkook’s love life would not get a straight answer.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the American Music Awards, BTS was asked to name the person in the group who is likely to get married first. The members all pointed at Jungkook, though when Jungkook asked why they all picked him, they did not explain.
BTS usually shies away from talking about their love life
In general, asking BTS about the members’ love life will not produce meaningful responses. It can be a touchy subject for some fans, so K-pop stars like BTS usually won’t share much about what is going on in the romance department for them, even if American news outlets are sometimes curious.
For example, in the same interview with Entertainment Tonight, the members were asked why they did not bring girlfriends with them and whether or not they were “looking” for partners.
However, RM decided to shift the focus to their fans. “We got ARMYs,” he said. “We got, like, thousands of girlfriends today in here.”
More recently, this topic was brought up in an interview with Esquire. When asked if they were dating, the group reportedly gave a resounding “no.” Jungkook also shared that they have other priorities at the moment, saying, “The most important thing for us now is to sleep.”
