BTS is at the top of their game at the moment. The group debuted in 2013 and has since taken the world by storm. They have topped charts, broken records, and won awards that used to feel far-reaching for K-pop artists.

Through it all, the members of BTS have learned many valuable things about life. When asked about the most important lesson he has learned, Jungkook shared a sweet response.

Jungkook debuted with BTS when he was a teenager

Jungkook is the youngest member of BTS. When the group debuted, he was turning 15. He was still a high school student at the time.

Although Jungkook got to live a life most teenagers could only dream of, he has admitted that he did miss out on a lot of “normal” experiences.

“It’s true I couldn’t spend a lot of days at school, but I think I gained more than I lost,” Jungkook told Rolling Stone. “I sometimes felt envious of all my friends hanging out or going on a trip. Maybe those are the things that I missed. But again, I think I gained more than I’ve lost.”

Because of Jungkook’s unique young adult life, he has learned a lot of important lessons.

In a new interview with India’s E Now, he was asked to share something valuable he learned when BTS was still trying to make it in the K-pop industry. Jungkook gave a sweet answer.

“From debut until now, I learned so much from our members, so it’s hard to pick one,” he said. “And it’s not that I learned a lesson. It’s just that I had so many good people around me that they influenced me, so I’m thankful.”

Speaking to Rolling Stone, he also shared a similar sentiment, “The other members had a lot of influence on me, and I could just feel comfortable because they are such good people. And they encouraged me to open up to them and mature into a good person.”

Sometimes, band members are simply co-workers. However, BTS has maintained that the members are genuinely close. After all, they spent years chasing the same goals, and they even live together.

In an interview with Dan Wootton for ITV in 2018, J-Hope said, “We have the members and we get our strength from our members because we’re always together. We support each other and we have this synergy so we can prop each other up.”

“We’re friends, business partners, roommates, everything,” RM added.

However, BTS has also admitted they did not start out being best buddies. In fact, their closeness came from the fact that they used to fight often, and this forced them to learn more about each other.

“There was a time when we fought each other quite a bit because we all came from different backgrounds and our personalities were so different,” J-Hope told Paper Magazine in 2019. Then, he added, “We were able to overcome that after frequently talking to each other and living together for a long time. We now know what each of us are thinking just by looking at each other.”
