The British royal family has just undergone a massive change. Following the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, many royal fans and experts believe that Queen Elizabeth II will begin to step away from her royal duties. This will provide Prince Charles with the opportunity to structure the more slimmed-down royal family that he’s always wanted.

Following Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s royal exit and their recent bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, which went into detail about why they left royal life, we’re not sure the royals will find a way to thrive as they once did.

However, one royal source boasts that Buckingham Palace is a lot calmer without Prince Harry and Meghan around.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spoke about their frustrations with the British royal family

When Prince Harry and Meghan resigned from royal life in March 2020, they revealed that they were seeking a more private life outside of the spotlight. Fans knew the Sussexes were having some issues with royal life. However, they didn’t reveal exactly what had happened until their CBS interview with Oprah.

The Sussexes accused the royals of being unsupportive, especially as Meghan dealt with racist attacks from the British tabloids. The duchess also explained that she was turned away after begging for help amid a mental health crisis.

Prince Harry also revealed that Prince Charles cut him off financially and refused to take his phone calls following Megxit. The couple also spoke about an unnamed royal family member who questioned their son Archie’s skin tone.

Meghan Markle has been accused of bullying her royal staff

Just days before the CBS interview aired, Buckingham Palace announced they were investigating bullying allegations against Meghan. The Times of London reported that the allegations steemed from 2018 from the couple’s former communications secretary Jason Knauf. In the story, Knauf claimed that the duchess drove two personal assistants out of the household. He also claimed that the former actor undermined the confidence of a third staff member.

Nothing has surfaced from these allegations and Meghan spoke out about them as soon as the investigation was announced. “The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.” her spokesperson said via Marie Claire.

Many people saw this as a ploy for the Palace to go on the defensive ahead of the Sussexes’ Oprah interview.

Buckingham Palace is a lot calmer without the Sussexes, insider claims

Still, it might be that Megxit was the best call for everyone involved. One insider claims Buckingham Palace has been very calm without the Sussexes.

“One of the main issues with Harry and Meghan when they were part of the working family was their inability to understand how things worked,'”a source told The Mirror. “It’s been a lot simpler without them kicking off over why they couldn’t just do what they wanted. Things are a lot calmer.”

Royal journalist and author Victoria Murphy told Town & Country that the Sussexes have been replaced in many ways by Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex. “The spotlight on Sophie has intensified in the vacuum left as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle step back,” she said.
