Who Is Buffalo Bills Receiver Amari Cooper’s Girlfriend Destiny Jones?
After playing his college ball at the University of Alabama, wide receiver Amari Cooper was selected by the then-Oakland Raiders with the fourth pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. The wideout made the Pro Bowl his first two seasons with the team but struggled in his third season and was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 2018. Cooper redeemed himself in his new home and was voted back to the Pro Bowl.
In 2022, Cooper was on the move again when the Cowboys traded him to the Cleveland Browns. His time there ended midway through the 2024 season when he was traded again, this time to the Buffalo Bills.
But despite being such a high-profile receiver in a few different places and catching passes from famous quarterbacks like Dak Prescott and Josh Allen, Cooper has managed to keep his love mostly private and his girlfriend out of the spotlight. Here’s what we do know about the wideout’s relationship with Destiny Jones.
What Jones does for a living
Cooper’s girlfriend was born Destiny De Monica Jones in Westland, Michigan. She has two siblings Duane and Devonta. Growing up, Jones had a love for dance and won national competitions. After high school, she attended Alabama State University where she became a member of the Stingettes squad.
In a profile about herself, Jones wrote: “I was a part of Alabama State Marching Band where I was a ‘Stingette’ dancer, able to use my platform to encourage other young women to go after their dreams.
“I was also President of Pinky Promise, a Christian organization of women whose promise is to honor God with their bodies and their lives. That also led me to reach out into my community in Montgomery Alabama and start My Sisters keepsake where I also empower young women to honor themselves to highest form, we also volunteered at Salvation Army.”
After completing her undergraduate studies in psychiatry at ASU, Jones enrolled in Holy Names University and earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. She later began working as a therapist at the Family Service Counseling and Community Resource Center (FSCC)in San Francisco. Jones is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
How long Cooper and Jones have been together
It’s unclear exactly when and how Cooper and Jones met as neither of them revealed that information. However, some fans have pointed out that Jones was by the football player’s side when he was drafted.
In video from the 2015 draft, Jones was seen sitting to the left of Cooper clapping and celebrating with his friends and family when his name was called proving that they’ve been together since at least their college days.
Cooper’s girlfriend is not the daughter of a famous rapper who has the same name
Cooper’s lady often gets confused with another woman named Destiny Jones. That Destiny Jones is actually the daughter of hip-hop artist Nas and she is the founder and CEO of the makeup brand Matic Cosmetics.
So while they share the same name, Nas’ daughter is not Cooper’s girlfriend.
