‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Stars Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof Lived In a Haunted House
If you ever felt like your home is haunted, you are certainly not alone. Several celebrities think they have paranormal guests residing in their homes. A couple of these celebs have been afraid of unexplained noises that happen in their homes. Adele even hired a bodyguard to stay with her when she heard unexplained noises in her home. It is also suspected Lucille Ball haunts the home she owned in Los Angeles. However, Buffy the Vampire Slayer alums Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof were not scared of their live-in ghost.
When did Alyson Hannigan meet her husband?
Hannigan started acting at the age of four and appeared in commercials. Fandom reports that, after high school, she attended California State University and studied psychology. In 1997, Hannigan landed the role of Willow Rosenberg in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The show turned out to be a success, and Hannigan’s career started taking off. She then had a role in the movie American Pie, and later she reprised her role in the sequels. In 2005, she portrayed kindergarten teacher Lily Aldrin in the hit comedy show How I Met Your Mother.
Denisof also acted on the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, although it was a smaller role, and the couple met on set. Denisof then had a more prominent role in the spinoff series, Angel. He made a few appearances alongside Hannigan on How I Met Your Mother as a news anchor, Sandy Rivers. He also appeared in the movies The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. Most recently, Denisof appeared on the Netflix show, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Although Denisof and Hannigan met in 1999, it wasn’t until 2003 that the couple married. They currently have two daughters.
How many houses have the couple owned?
In addition to acting, Hannigan and Denisof have taken to buying houses, fixing them up, and eventually selling them a couple of years later. Trulia reports they bought a five-bedroom, eight-bath home in the Los Angeles suburb of Encino for $7.95 million. The house was built in 2001 by architect Peter Tolkin and is a contemporary style. The home includes a large courtyard, pool, spa, a one-bedroom guesthouse with a kitchen, and a separate studio with a full bathroom. In 2015, the couple bought and flipped a four-bedroom and six-bathroom house in Brentwood.
Then in 2018, Hannigan and Denisof sold the first house they purchased together in Santa Monica. According to Realtor.com, The house is a Spanish-style bungalow built in the 1930s, including five bedrooms and four bathrooms, and two and a half baths. Hannigan and Denisof first bought the home in 2002 for $1.96 million. They put it on the market for $5.1 million, according to Variety. The couple also has a home in Atlanta, where Hannigan’s mother resides and is a realtor.
Alexis Denisof and Alyson Hannigan had a friendly ghost
According to Architectural Digest, Hannigan didn’t think her ghost died in her home because there is a law in Los Angeles stating that it has to be disclosed if someone has died in the house when someone buys a house. No one told Hannigan and Denisof if someone previously passed away in the home. One night, her friend informed Hannigan that she saw a man. Later that night, Hannigan herself saw a man’s silhouette and thought it was Denisof, but he was asleep next to her. Nothing scary has happened, so the couple feels this is a friendly ghost. Hannigan went on to say, “I’d love to get his name. I’m thinking of putting a little chalkboard where I think he lives to see if he will write his name down.”
