‘Butlers In Love’: Cast, Premiere Date, and Everything Else to Know About the New Hallmark Movie
From Crown for Christmas to A Winter Princess, Hallmark Channel has churned out plenty of movies about commoners who fall for royals. But what about the romantic intrigues that happen below stairs? In the new rom-com Butlers In Love, two ambitious butlers – including one from a family who has a history of working with royals – clash when they both enroll in an elite school for butlers. However, they soon learn that they may have more in common than they realized. It premieres Saturday, Jan. 29.
‘Butlers In Love’ stars Stacey Farber and Corey Cott
Virgin River fans will recognize Butlers In Love star Stacey Farber. She portrays Lily’s daughter Tara on Netflix’s hit series. In the Hallmark movie, she plays Emma, a young woman who dreams of becoming an elite butler. Farber also appears in Superman & Lois on the CW.
Corey Cott from The Good Fight plays Henry, a rebellious fellow student at the butler academy. Maxwell Caulfield plays Mr. Willoughby, who works at the school. Manuela Sosa, Jarryd Blaine, Bronwen Smith, Cameron McDonald, Dan Weber, Ecstasia Sanders, Kristof Gillese, and Valerie McNicol also star.
What is ‘Butlers In Love’ about?
Ever since she learned of the International Butler Academy, Emma has dreamed of attending the school and joining the ranks of the world’s elite butlers. But earning a spot is no picnic.
“Butler school can be harder to get into than law school,” Farber’s character says in a preview for the movie.
Emma is delighted when she’s accepted into the academy, but once she arrives, things aren’t quite what she imagine. The go-it-alone Emma struggles in an environment where teamwork is everything. Plus, she clashes with Henry, who she thinks has an attitude because he comes from a family of royal butlers. Meanwhile, Henry is frustrated because he actually wants to be a chef, not a butler, a goal that his family doesn’t understand.
As Emma and Henry get to know each other, she begins to realize the value of working with others instead of trying to do everything herself. At the same time, she encourages Henry to find a way to get his family to support his dreams. Gradually, their connection spurs Emma to reevaluate what she wants out of life.
Is the International Butler Academy real?
While it might sound made up to many viewers, there really is an International Butler Academy. The school, which is located on a private estate in the Netherlands, offers a rigorous 10-week training program for would-be butlers. It describes itself as a “unique, exclusive, and professional butling and house management school” and “the finest and most innovative butler service training institute in the world.” Graduates have gone on to work for wealthy families, international businesses, luxury hotels and resorts, private clubs, and cruise lines. An increase in the ranks of the rich means there’s demand for household help and well-trained butlers can earn six-figure salaries.
“The comeback of the butler is enormous,” International Butler Academy founder Robert Wennekes told ABC News. “Every day, there are new millionaires.”
