Caitlyn Jenner’s Transition Brought Her Closer to Her Eldest Daughter
Caitlyn Jenner‘s transition famously caused a disruption to her relationship with her ex-wife Kris Jenner and the family that they shared, which was documented (along with everything else in their lives) on their reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
To be fair, it wasn’t Jenner’s transition that caused the feud but what she said about Kris Jenner in her tell-all memoir that really pissed the Kardashian-Jenner clan off.
Jenner’s relationship with one of her less famous children, however, is stronger than ever; in fact, one of her daughters has said that she feels closer to Caitlyn than she ever did when she still went by “Bruce”.

Caitlyn Jenner is an award-winning Olympic athlete, which is a huge accomplishment, but most people nowadays recognize her as being Kardashian-Jenner matriarch Kris Jenner’s ex.
Caitlyn and Kris have two daughters, Kendall and Kylie, together, and Caitlyn helped Kris raise her children from a previous marriage. Of course, all the Kardashian-Jenner siblings are some of the most famous people on the planet now, and Caitlyn has definitely absorbed a lot of that fame.
In 2015, Caitlyn surprised the world by announcing her transition to living her life as the woman that she is. Until then, she had gone by Bruce Jenner, but she made the courageous decision to reveal her true gender identity to the world.
She told Diane Sawyer in 2015, “For all intents and purposes, I’m a woman. People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life — it is part of me. That female side is part of me. That’s who I am.”
Jenner’s transition brought her closer to her eldest daughter
Not all of Jenner’s children are famous reality TV stars. All of her offspring have had different ways of dealing with Jenner’s transition, but her eldest daughter (with her first wife, Chrystie Scott) Cassandra Marino has shared that Jenner’s transition has brought them closer together than ever before.
“We didn’t talk for years, and now we see each other every couple of weeks and talk on the phone, which I am grateful for,” Marino shared with People in 2016. She added, “She’s happier and more appreciative of her family. She is trying harder and there is a softness to Caitlyn that is new to me. I think part of that is that when someone is happier, they are just nicer.”
It turns out that Marino had known about Jenner’s gender identity for most of her life, given that Jenner originally started taking hormonal replacements in the 80s, and Marino’s mother told the kids about it.
“I am pleased with how beautiful and comfortable she seems every time I see her. She seems to be having a lot of fun with it!,” Marino said. It seems like Jenner’s daughter is extremely supportive of her decision to live a more authentic life.
What is Jenner’s relationship like with her other children?
Jenner’s more famous children are also supportive of her transition. Kendall and Kylie, her biological children with ex Kris, have been very supportive of their parent’s decision.
“When my dad came out as transgender, our relationship grew,” Kendall once said. “She could finally be honest with me. We could talk about deep emotions she was feeling through that time. Growing up my dad was not usually one to talk about her feelings so that was a big step for us.”
Although all of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings seem to be extremely supportive of Jenner’s transition, her not-so-kind words about the family matriarch, Kris, caused a rupture in the relationship. In her tell-all memoir, Jenner claims that Kris knew about her gender identity and made her feel “weak and inferior.”
It’s no wonder Kris’ children are angry with Jenner, and it seems like there will be a lot more repairs to do with this part of the family.
