Fans first met Cabello with the reality competition series X-Factor. She joined Fifth Harmony and rose in popularity with songs like “Worth It” and “Work From Home.” Since taking a step back from this girl group, Cabello released original music, including songs like “Don’t Go Yet.”

Cabello earned the MTV Video Music Awards for Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Best Collaboration. She attended the Met Gala with her partner Shawn Mendes. The artist even shared her love for certain cartoon characters, including one from Disney’s Tangled

Outside of her music, Cabello appeared in several interviews, including one with MTV. The “Don’t Go Yet” singer was asked if she ever had a crush on a cartoon character. The answer was a resounding yes.

“So many times,” she said.

The character she chose to mention was Eugene Fitzherbert (also known as the wanted thief Flynn Rider) from Disney’s Tangled. It’s this character, voiced by Zachary Levi, that eventually fell in love with Rapunzel, making her his “new dream.” He was even known to showcase his “smolder.”

Cabello wouldn’t be the only celebrity who shared her love for Disney animated characters. Victoria Pedretti of The Haunting of Bly Manor mentioned Shang from Mulan as a “good one” when it came to her childhood cartoon crushes.

Camila Cabello starred in a re-imagined version of ‘Cinderella’

In 2021, Cabello got a fairytale ending with a pair of matching glass slippers, starring in the Amazon Prime original movie, Cinderella. Amazon’s version of Cinderella tells a different story than Disney’s live-action adaptation. In it, Cabello plays the title character, who dreams of designing and selling dresses.

“She’s not really giving up her life for the prince because she knows that she would just be unhappy,” Cabello said of her character during an interview with Collider. “She wouldn’t be able to be herself. At the end of the day, you wanna be in a relationship with somebody where you can be yourself.”

The production featured original songs performed by Cabello and several well-known actors, including the Emmy Award-winning Billy Porter and Disney icon Idina Menzel. However, this film was not created in conjunction with Walt Disney Studios. Disney released its remade version of Cinderella starring Lily James in 2015.

Music by Cabello is available on most major streaming platforms, while the Amazon Original version of Cinderella is available exclusively with a subscription to Amazon Prime.
