Camila Cabello Says Being in Love With Shawn Mendes Is “Exhausting” — Here’s Why

During a recent interview with Jimmy Hill at The Global Awards 2020, the “Havana” songstress revealed that her relationship with Mendes leaves her “exhausted” at times. But there’s an understandable reason why.

While talking about the possibility of making more music with the “If I Can’t Have You” singer following the success of their hit track “Señorita,” Cabello shared, “I want more, we want more but honestly we’re being in our twenties.”

The singer went on to share that not making more music Mendes has nothing to do with them being too “busy.” Instead, it’s because they’re both invested in their relationship, which Cabello says can get tiring at times.

“Just like being in love is exhausting, it takes it out of you,” she shared before adding, “We can’t even go to the studio, we can’t, yeah. We’re trying to calm down!”

Hill then jokingly asked, “Too busy in other ways?” to which Cabello responded, “No, no. I meant emotionally! Dang it,”

After five years of friendship, Cabello and Mendes became an official couple in July 2019, after an Entertainment Tonight source claimed that the pair’s summer fling had blossomed into something more.

“Shawn and Camila originally were just enjoying spending time together and having a summer fling,” the insider shared. “Camila had just got out of a relationship and Shawn was in the middle of a massive tour. However, Shawn and Camila have really fallen for one another.”

Cabello and Mendes haven’t been afraid to showcase their relationship

Ever since then, Cabello and Mendes haven’t been afraid to put their romance on full display.

Following the release of their chart-topping duet and their many public make-out sessions, the former Fifth Harmony member opened up about falling in love.

Even though she didn’t mention anyone by name, it was clear to fans that she was talking about her romance with Mendes.

“Falling in love is like an infinite amount of levels and layers and angles. I fell in love and just opened up. Everything was written in present moment,” she told Variety. 

Following that interview, the celebrities have showcased their blossoming romance at every turn.

Whether it’s featuring each other in social media posts or giving steamy performances of their hit song, it became clear early on that these two had strong feelings for each other.

Today, Cabello and Mendes’ relationship appears to be stronger than ever, and it’s evident to fans that the pair fall more in love with each other as time goes on.
