Camilla Parker Bowles has reportedly been “weakened” after a battle with viral pneumonia. A royal expert warns the queen consort needs to take care of her health as she could relapse.

Queen consort Camilla Parker Bowles’s health remains in the balance after pneumonia battle

Royal expert Ingrid Seaward told GB News that she worries for the queen consort’s health. Camilla Parker Bowles was diagnosed with pneumonia in November and she continues to experience health challenges after battling the illness.

“Queen Camilla has always been prone to chest infections. This one turned into viral pneumonia which is not uncommon,” Seaward explained.

“It just means her chest is weakened even more. She just has to be very careful. It does take some time to recover,” the royal expert continued.

“This is why she hasn’t gone out into the cold. If she can just stay in one temperature there is a better chance of recovery,” the expert concluded. She referred to Camilla’s participation in the indoor portions of a state visit from Qatar’s Emir and his wife.

Due to pneumonia, Camilla Parker Bowles missed several royal family events. These included the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance, the Cenotaph wreath-laying ceremony, the Royal Variety Performance at Royal Albert Hall, and the premiere of Gladiator II

Camilla announced her pneumonia diagnosis on Nov. 5, 2023 reports The Mirror. However, after her initial recovery, she reportedly continued to experience lingering symptoms, including post-viral fatigue, and was instructed to rest by her doctors.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson subsequently stated: “The Queen has been suffering from a viral infection which has been diagnosed as pneumonia. Her Majesty has not required hospital treatment but is experiencing lingering side effects, chiefly suffering extreme bouts of tiredness which has meant the need for greater flex in her working diary.”

Friends of the queen consort claim she found her 2024 schedule ‘exhausting’

The Daily Beast reports that 2024 was a year where Camilla Parker Bowles took on more responsibilities than she anticipated after both her husband King Charles, and Kate Middleton, were diagnosed with cancer. Thus, friends of the queen consort claim she found her schedule “exhausting.”

The outlet quoted a friend who claimed, “People forget that Camilla never set out to be queen. She never signed up for the hamster wheel. [Camilla] just happened to fall in love with a prince. However, she has risen to the demands of the job but she finds it exhausting.”

A second person was quoted as saying, “We are all extremely concerned that this happened. Thank goodness she seems to have recovered. Camilla just needs to rest and recuperate now over Christmas and I only hope they drive her and the king to church on Christmas Day if it’s cold!”

The palace has not yet announced if the queen consort will partake in the annual walk to church when the royal family celebrates Christmas at Sandringham.
