Natasha Bure and Candace Cameron Bure star in a new ‘Aurora Teagarden’ movie
Cameron Bure has been playing the lead role in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries popular Aurora Teagarden series since 2015. So far, she’s appeared in 18 movies in the series. But the latest, which premiered Feb. 20, may have been one of the most special. That’s because her daughter Natasha also appeared in the movie, playing a younger version of her mother’s librarian-turned-sleuth in flashback scenes.
In the movie, Natasha portrays Aurora as a teenager, when she and her best friend Sally decided to explore the infamous haunted Enshaw Mansion on a dare. Once inside, they discovered a dead body. Twenty years later, Aurora’s mother (Marilu Henner) decides to buy the house, which leads Aurora to revisit the Enshaw Mansion’s secrets.
The Hallmark Channel star says she ‘loved every minute’ of working with her daughter
In an interview with Us Weekly, Cameron Bure talked about working with her daughter on her latest Hallmark project.
“I loved every minute of it,” she said. “I felt like the biggest stage mom. I was so proud. … It was so much fun.”
While the Fuller House alum was thrilled to work with one of her kids, it took some convincing to get Natasha to sign on to the film. Cameron Bure said she’d been hoping to get her daughter to play a younger Aurora for years, but she’d always said no, telling her mother she wanted to establish her career on her own.
“I really didn’t know if she was going to accept the part,” Cameron Bure said, recalling when she again approached Natasha about making an Aurora Teagarden movie.
Lexa Doig’s daughter also appeared in the latest ‘Aurora Teagarden’ movie
It truly was a family affair on the set of Haunted By Murder. Not only did Natasha play a younger Aurora, but Lexa Doig’s daughter Mia Shanks portrayed a teenage version of Aurora’s best friend Sally.
“I’m very excited,” Shanks, who made her screen debut in the movie, said in a behind-the-scenes video for Hallmark. “It’s a brand-new opportunity that I’ve never experienced before.”
Natasha said that her mother and Doig both were on hand to give pointers to their kids on set.
They were “fully helping us embody the characters,” she said during a live chat with her co-stars (via Hallmark). “It was definitely very helpful … I wanted to make sure I was doing it correctly.”
