Captain America Chris Evans Sparks Romance Rumors With a ‘Downton Abbey’ Star
Captain America star Chris Evans might have a new girlfriend. The actor was spotted enjoying an evening with Downton Abbey star Lily James in London, sparking rumors that a romance is afoot. The news comes after James was reportedly looking to get back with her long-term boyfriend, Matt Smith.
What happened between Lily James and Matt Smith?
After dating for years, James and Smith reportedly parted ways back in December. At the time, inside sources claimed that the pair had ended their five-year romance because she was unhappy with Smith’s friendship with some of his “female” co-stars.
According to Daily Mail, a source also stated that their busy filming schedules played a part in their breakup. Although they had ended their romance, they kept the home they purchased together because they both didn’t use it much.
That all changed, of course, when the coronavirus pandemic hit. Due to the outbreak, the two isolated in their shared home. Sources claim that living together reignited their romance and allowed them to work out their differences.
“Being in the house and having no work and distractions has allowed them to reconnect and get back to a good place,” an insider dished. “There is such an amazing chemistry between them and they make a wonderful couple.”
The source added that Smith and James’ friends hoped that they would eventually get back together. They also believed that the biggest reason their relationship didn’t work out was because of their busy careers.
But based on James’ recent outing with Evans, it appears as though her romance with Smith is over for now.
Chris Evans opens up about starting a family
Evans, meanwhile, was last linked to another celebrity in Hollywood in Jenny Slate. The two were romantically involved for over two years, though their relationship ended by the spring of 2018.
At the time, Evans confirmed that he and Slate were no longer dating. The actor did not give an explanation of why their romance did not work out, but he did open up about wanting to start a family a year later.
In an interview from 2019 for Men’s Journal, the Avengers: Endgame star revealed that he is ready to settle down and start a family of his own. Evans was not dating anyone at the time, but he sounded eager to spark up a serious romance.
“I want a wife, I want kids,” Evans stated. “I like ceremony. I want to carve pumpkins and decorate Christmas trees and sh*t like that.”
Evans has not said anything about his romantic life following the interview. Now that countries are starting to ease up restrictions, the actor is currently in London gearing up to film Little Shop of Horrors.
This explains why Evans was recently spotted out on the town, and it appears as though he may have started a new romance as well.
Chris Evans and Lily James enjoy a night out in London
The Downton Abbey star recently enjoyed a night of partying with Evans in London. The actress rocked a red dress for the outing and was spotted at the same venue as Evans called Mark’s Club.
The two stayed at the private member’s only club until the early morning hours of Saturday. They left the venue in the same taxi, which drove to Evans’ hotel in the city, The Corinthia.
After arriving at the hotel, Evans got out first and made his way inside. The actor, however, was forced to wait a few minutes outside until staff members opened the door for him to enter. Evans talked with the staff members for a few minutes before they agreed to allow James inside as well.
Evans, who looked sharp in an all-black ensemble, has not commented on the nature of his relationship with James. But given their recent outing together, it seems as though the two are really hitting it off.
Apart from Little Shop of Horrors, Evans is also rumored to be working on a new project titled Bermuda Triangle. His most recent appearance was in the television min-series, Defending Jacob, which premiered earlier this year.
