Cardi B Could Make $3.8 Million From Her Second Pregnancy
Cardi B is pregnant with baby no. 2! Three years after giving birth to her first child, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper is expecting her second with fellow rapper and husband, Offset. Not only will she be a mother of two very soon, but Cardi B could also be a whole lot richer in the next few months as she could potentially earn $3.8 million from maternity collaborations alone.
Cardi B announced her second pregnancy at the 2021 BET Awards
On June 27, 2021, Cardi B channeled her inner Beyoncé when she revealed her second pregnancy at the 2021 BET Awards.
The Grammy winner made the big reveal during a dual performance with Migos at the ceremony. Following the trio’s rendition of “Straightenin,” Cardi joined them for the song “Type S—,” walking out on stage wearing a sparkly leotard with a sheer cut-out in the middle to display her growing baby bump.
Following her reveal at the BET Awards, Cardi broke the news to her fans on Instagram by posting a nude portrait of herself wearing only a plaster cast of her breasts and belly. She captioned the shot, “#2,” along with an orange heart emoji.
The “Up” rapper’s pregnancy comes three years after she and Offset welcomed their first child, daughter Kulture Kiari, in 2018. Offset is also father to three children from prior relationships, 11-year-old Jordan and 6-year-olds Kody and Kalea.
Cardi B announced her first pregnancy in a similar fashion. While performing her song “Be Careful” on Saturday Night Live in April 2018, she confirmed pregnancy rumors by taking the stage in a tight white dress that showed off her baby bump.
Cardi B could earn millions from maternity collaborations
Though she is a multimillionaire, Cardi B could be a few million dollars richer in the next few months — that is, if she does any maternity collaborations.
Using Inkifi, the fashion retailer Nasty Gal estimated that the rapper could earn $3.8 million from maternity collabs alone leading up to her due date.
Seeing as she currently has 100 million Instagram followers, Cardi B could charge anywhere between $429,000- $563,000 for a single sponsored maternity post.
That’s a lot of money for diapers.
So far, Cardi B hasn’t posted any sponsored maternity posts to her social media accounts. However, she has shared some stunning portraits from her latest maternity shoot.
The day after she announced her pregnancy, Cardi B posted an Instagram photo of Offset hugging her from behind while his hands laid on her growing baby bump.
“We listened to each other, communicated, prayed and then God blessed us and our family with another little blessing,” she captioned the post. “Our home feels so blissful and very busy, but we are ready and so happy!! Thank you soo much everyone for the congrats and well wishes.”
Cardi also shared an image of her daughter Kulture resting her small hand on her belly while both were dressed in all-white attire.
As of this writing, it’s unclear if the rapper is in the talks to collaborate with any maternity brands.
