Cardi B Covers Tattoo of Rumored Ex-Boyfriend’s Name With a Stunning New Visual
Cardi B has been back to her tattoo artist.
Just weeks after she unveiled a massive back tattoo that extends down to her leg, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper has revealed that she also covered up the “Samuel” tattoo on her neck. She debuted the new ink on Twitter and the results are stunning.

Cardi B used to have the name “Samuel,” written in cursive with red ink, on the back of her neck. But she has since covered it up with a butterfly.
The “Be Careful” crooner gave fans a glimpse of it on June 29, tweeting a picture that shows a massive butterfly with vibrant colors in the place of her old ink. “I never showed ya my cover tatt …What ya think?” she captioned the image. Some parts of the old tattoo are still visible, but, nonetheless, many fans were amazed by the results.
“That’s dope af! Your tats look like MONEY,” read one tweet.
“The color is so f*ckin [fire],” said another. “I’m scared of tatts but all of your tatts make me wanna get one. They’re just so damn detailed & perfect”
What did Cardi B’s ‘Samuel’ tattoo mean?
Cardi B has never revealed the meaning of the tattoo, but people in the comment section claimed that it’s the name of someone she dated before achieving fame.
Many noted that she has a history of getting tattoos in honor of her loved ones, pointing to the “Hennessy” artwork she got for her baby sister Hennessy Carolina and the “Tommy G” tattoo for her old boyfriend.
They also reminded fans that Cardi B once admitted to Ellen DeGeneres: “I have like three different men tatted on me, you know what I’m saying? They gotta go!” But the “Money Bag” rapper did not appear to address the speculation.
Cardi B’s dating history
Ranker reports that Cardi B dated Tommy G from 2015 to 2016. The rapper often talked about him when she was a cast member on Love & Hip Hop: New York and even toyed with the idea of marrying him. But according to VladTV, they broke up when Cardi B started becoming busier and no longer had as much time to spend with her beau.
She met Offset of the rap trio Migos later in 2016 and began dating him just before she dropped her breakout hit, “Bodak Yellow,” in June 2017. She and the “Clout” rapper went on to get married that September and are now parents to a daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus, who was born in July 2018.
Days after Kulture’s arrival, Cardi B revealed that she’d gotten a tattoo of Offset’s name on the back of her thigh. It came about a year after he got a tattoo of Buttercup from The Powerpuff Girls in honor of his “Lick” collaborator.
