Cardi B has never been one to shy away from the realities of her personal life — even when they’ve brought her harsh criticism. The rapper has often used her music to portray a bold, open persona that is unafraid to break down taboos.

Take “WAP,” for example, the smash summer hit in collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion that has conservatives clutching their pearls at the lyrics and video, both of which openly embrace female sexual pleasure. When it comes to her relationship, though, she has been a little less forthcoming, but it looks like that might be about to change.

Cardi B knows that fans are hungry for details about her personal life and marriage to fellow rapper Offset. She’s ready to spill — as long as fans are ready to pay.

Cardi B has been very transparent about her past

Cardi B is a breath of fresh air in a celebrity landscape where many stars hide the truth about their lives. While most stars deny plastic surgery rumors even when it’s clear that they’ve had alterations done, Cardi B has no qualms about telling the truth.

When she was just a teen trying to make it as an exotic dancer, she decided to get butt implants to make her more competitive in the industry. She got the $800 injections in a basement in Queens.

“They don’t numb your ass with anything,” Cardi B explained of the procedure. “It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days.”

She has also never been shy about admitting to stripping in the past. In fact, she has gone so far as to say that the act saved her from an abusive relationship. The rapper is all about independence and subverting traditional norms and expectations to get ahead — especially if those norms and expectations were placed to keep women down in the first place.

Fans have praised her as a progressive-minded champion for autonomy, and that work is grounded in being honest about her own life.

Cardi B and Offset have a tumultuous relationship

One place where Cardi B has been a little less forthcoming is in her relationship with fellow rapper Offset, a member of the group Migos. The pair met in 2016 and worked together on a song called “Lick” in early 2017.

At that point, Cardi B was still mostly recognized as a reality TV star, and the Migos hit “Bad and Boujee” was climbing the charts. They appeared together at the Super Bowl in 2017, and Offset would later confirm this to be their first real date.

By June, everyone was pretty sure they were together, but there was no official confirmation.

In September, the pair secretly married, a fact that the public wouldn’t learn for another eight months — and only after TMZ tracked down the marriage certificate. The pair weathered some rumors of infidelity and then denied pregnancy rumors.

Cardi B also took some time to tell fans off who questioned why she would stay with a cheater. “I’m not your property. This is my life . . . I’m going to take my time, and I’m going to decide on my decision,” the star bluntly said.

Of course, we now know that despite the denials, Cardi B was actually pregnant (and married) at the time, which may have informed her decisions as well. Baby Kulture was born in July 2018.

Things got real rocky after the birth of Kulture. Cardi B turned herself in for ordering an attack on two women in a strip club when she suspected one of them of being involved with Offset.

The pair officially split and were headed toward divorce when Offset very publicly tried to win his wife back. The efforts eventually worked, and the two have now been back together and raising their daughter in quarantine during COVID-19.

Now it looks like fans who are eager to learn more about Cardi B’s relationship will get a chance to get the deets — as long as they’re willing to buy the rapper’s music. In an interview with Elle, Cardi B explained she wasn’t giving away her private secrets for free.

“I do know that my relationship has a lot of drama and everything. But there’s a lot of love there’s a lot of passion, there’s a lot of trust, there’s a big friendship. It’s always us against the world,” she explained.

She then went on to say: “If you all are so curious to know about my relationship and blah, blah, blah, I’m going to put it in the fu**in’ music, and you can buy it, too,” she says. “I’m not going to give it to you all for free.”
