Cardi B Breaks Silence and Reveals the Real Reason She Is Divorcing Offset in New Video
Cardi B and Offset have had quite the tumultuous relationship. They have gone from highs of getting engaged on stage in front of thousands of fans to breaking up publicly and getting back together. Now, Cardi has filed for divorce from the Migos rapper. While rumors have been swirling that infidelity was the reason the “WAP” rapper is ready to call it quits, she took to Instagram Live to share the real reason.
Cardi B and Offset’s relationship
The two rappers met when they worked on her song “Lick.” Fast forward to May of 2017 and the two went public with their relationship. In September of that year, the pair had a secret wedding in Cardi’s bedroom but it wasn’t until she performed at Power 99’s Powerhouse concert that Offset publicly proposed.
In July 2018, Cardi gave birth to their first child, Kulture. Unfortunately, in December of that year, Cardi went on Instagram and announced that she and Offset were done.
“It’s [nobody’s] fault, I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore,” she said in a video.
“So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby’s father for a hot minute now,” she said. “We are really good friends and we are really good business partners — you know he’s always somebody that I run to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other — but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.”
Offset’s infidelity
Offset has been accused of cheating on his wife more than a few times. In March, a video began circulating of him seemingly hiding his phone from Cardi. Though he denied that was the case, Cardi had a hard time trusting him.
“Cardi does not trust Offset,” a source told E! News. “She’s really tried for the last two years and has tried to forgive him. It’s been hard for her since the last cheating scandal and there have been rumors of him being unfaithful again.
“He has been pleading with her that he hasn’t, but many girls have come forward with claims. She had enough and decided to file,” the source continued.
Why did Cardi B file for divorce?
According to E! News, Cardi officially filed for divorce on Sept. 14. On Sep. 18, she went live on Instagram to tell fans why she made that decision.
“This time I wasn’t crying,” she said in the video, captured by Hollywoodlife.
“It’s not because of cheating. I’m seeing people say it’s because he’s got a baby on the way — that’s a whole f*cking complete lie. This is the like second time people try to pin babies over here. No, that’s bullsh*t.”
Ultimately, the songstress said she had had enough of the drama with her husband.
She claimed she “got tired of f*cking arguing” and “got tired of not seeing things eye-to-eye.”
“When you feel like it’s just not the same anymore and before you get cheated on, I’d rather just leave,” she said.
She went on to say that nothing really bad happened between them, they just grew apart.
“I’ve been with this man for 4 years,” she said. “I have a kid with this man. I have a household with this man. Sometimes you just want — you’re just tired of the arguments, of the buildups.”
