Carlos and Alexa PenaVega recently hit the field in Texas to film scenes for their new Christmas movie.

The real-life couple stars in Love at the Kettle (WT), which airs later this year on Great American Family. The movie is a collaboration with The Salvation Army. It features scenes filmed inside AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys

For their second collaboration with Great American Family, the PenaVegas star as two people who find love and purpose while volunteering with The Salvation Army’s familiar Red Kettle campaign.

In scenes filmed at AT&T Stadium, Big Time Rush member Carlos PenaVega will sing “Get Him Back (For Christmas),” an original song written for the movie. The iconic stadium will provide a dramatic backdrop that highlights Love at the Kettle’s themes of community and teamwork.

Love at the Kettle “marks a significant milestone, blending the excitement of Christmas, football, and the heartfelt message of The Salvation Army’s mission,” the faith-focused network shared in a press release. The movie will raise awareness of The Salvation Army’s charitable efforts, and viewers will be encouraged to give to the organization and make a difference in their communities.

“We are incredibly excited about this film and the partnerships that have made it possible,” Great American Media President and CEO Bill Abbott said. “The collaboration with The Salvation Army not only enhances the story but also underscores the importance of giving to and supporting our neighbors.”

Production on the movie, which is co-produced by Mario Lopez, recently wrapped. It will premiere this holiday season as part of Great American Family’s Great American Christmas 2024 programming event.

Carlos PenaVega says filming at AT&T Stadium was ‘surreal’

In a video shared on Instagram, Carlos said filming at the stadium was “surreal.”

“It’s almost one in the morning and we are here in the empty stadium,” he said. “They’re about to kick us out. But I had to get one more video.

“I cannot wait for you to see it,” he added.

Carlos previously performed at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving Day in 2011 with Big Time Rush.

Love at the Kettle builds on the PenaVega’s longtime support of The Salvation Army. The couple has previously worked with the group by serving food boxes to families after hurricanes in Florida, helping families affected by the wildfires in Lahaina, Hawaii, receive Christmas gifts, and acting as bell ringers as part of the annual Red Kettle Campaign.

The Dallas Cowboys have a long association with the Red Kettle campaign. For more than two decades, the team has celebrated the start of that year’s giving effort with the Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show at its Thanksgiving Day game. The 2023 event featured a performance by country music superstar Dolly Parton.
